Probably a minority view, but imo the smartest thing Biden could do is pardon anyone involved when he takes office, on the condition that anyone involved admits their wrongdoing.
Wouldn’t they have to admit it to be pardoned?

It’s been reported one of those who died had a heart attack after tasering himself

Not my understanding of how a presidential pardon works, but I've not googled it to check so happy to stand corrected.

Trump is running out of time for Pence to do it, also got the feeling Pence is a touch pissed at Trumo right now. Would Biden do it? He shouldn’t
@ELLERS here's something to get your teeth stuck into.....Salmond launching an attack on Sturgeon! Could make the elections in May interesting

Our nation needs healing as well SM. It would be hypocritical of me to deny independence to Scotland after I voted for Brexit. I think they should stay because our union is not like the EU one, but if they go, don't use the pound and we treat them as a third country. we cut the money on day one. Let the EU bail them out.@ELLERS here's something to get your teeth stuck into.....Salmond launching an attack on Sturgeon! Could make the elections in May interesting

It is a bad enough break from the EU... Scotland would be a nightmare. As I said recently I will make sure I have a few trips to Scotland rather than the hot places where I can't understand them.I don't know what their fiscal plans are, but they were a bit fluffy about it at the last attempt.
I really wish the SNP would get the other things that have been allowed to deteriorate sorted, instead of spending their time and energy banging on about independance. Once Covid is out of the way (gonna be a while yet) they'll be back banging their drum. I have plenty if friends who are SNP supporters, and a few who are anti. It's difficult, we need more autonomy from Westminster, but breaking the Union is a step too far for me...
Twitter finally decides to permanently suspend Trumps account
Trump supporters don't carry guns or arm themselves. Is that what he should have believed? On another point , I wonder just how many of those 'Proud Boys' (and girls obviously) will hand themselves in to face justice. An awful lot of masks and face coverings for the task of taking pride in the stand you are making. Your first point is a sweeping generalisation of a problem criminal courts have to deal with on a daily basis - what is reasonable force to defend yourself. The high number of incidents in America where black men are killed without posing any danger to anyone and it is captured on mobile phone footage indicates that there is a clear problem with the attitude of police officers and that many (but obviously not all) would be found to have not used reasonable force. So when a cop in the US shoots a suspect who is known for carrying firearms and has a record as long as anything faces trial for defending himself. Is it okay for him to shoot first and ask questions later?
Besides they knew they were Trump supporters and not some muslim kid running around with a backpack.
Sorry that was OTT
She was certainly naive and stupid. But there were armed cops positioned all the way down the stairs behind her. A number of the flag waving, Trump supporters had backpacks on. The likelihood that any were suicide bombers was incredibly small.
For me, common sense and discretion was missing from the security officer's action. If it had been in the UK, and an unarmed woman was trying to get into Parliament amongst a group of union jack flag wavers, I don't think she would have been shot with a firearm. The US is simply a lot more extreme in these cases, and I fear there are crazy, heavily armed "patriots" in the US that may want to exact revenge

'The likelihood that any were suicide bombers was incredibly small' On what do you base that ridiculous argument?
Hopefully his ban from Twitter and other social media will do that. Locking him away for the rest of his days quickly would be justified, and help stop him running for President again. Impeachment would double down on that.Biden shouldn't pardon Trump. He should instead lean on every prosecutor to urge them not to prosecute Trump. Trump would love the limelight and the chance to become a martyr, entrenching further existing divisions. The best way possible to punish Trump would be to starve of him of the oxygen of publicity.
