I sympathise with the idea but in a country as polarised as the US I don't see him ever being convicted of anything by a jury not to mention that his lawyers would ensure that they used the system to tie the case up in knots for years. He would have lots of air time to spout his bollocks. Personally I think America is in for a hard time and the best thing they could do would be to amass a full dossier of his public pronouncements and actions and recycle those endlessly when the **** hits the fan. Only when a majority of his supporters see that he is in fact responsible for their woes rather than their messiah will he effectively be consigned to history. However he has set the precedent on dispensing with convention time and again so should expect no pardon for any crimes committed by him.

They believe in revolution against oppressive state, and look back to the Boston Tea Party and 1783 when the Americans saw off the Brits in the War of Independence. Since then, many have stayed heavily armed, ready to resume the revolution.
So, yes, a softly, softly approach by Biden makes good sense, for his presidency and for America.
