Totally agree bob. These statues need to remain so people can ask what/who they are about. Lets not try and cover our history because a few Tarquins are playing BLM this month.

Im gonna stick my neck out here and try to play the devils advocate.

After much deliberation I’m now thinking the more controversial statues eg Colston and the like should be put in museums.
Of course it doesn’t come up with a solution as to who was offensive to one person might be a hero to another eg Churchill but at least it’s a start.

You’d think those who have been so vocal about the criminal behaviour would be horrified by this. Nazi salutes ffs directly what the war heroes fought against... the silence is very telling.

Any evidence of this Wills ? Come on mate, we talked about this yesterday....false rumours etc ? Social media is a menace sometimes

NB.....I watched the video and they really ARENT Nazi salutes....I’m sure you’ll agree

Do the one hand in the air like that is for what purpose? Saying hi?

What have you learned about Colston, Strolls? He was a slave trader in the 1600's and later a philanthropist in Bristol. Anyone who didn't know there was a slave trade then needs to brush up on their history. The trouble is, it became politically incorrect at the end of the C20th to mention the slave trade (unless you're black) in case it upset someone.
Well I learned that there was a statue of a slave trader in Bristol. I dont think it has become politically incorrect to mention the slave trade at all, regardless of colour. In hindsight I think it's more politically incorrect to have a statue of a slave trader missing the relevant information as to why it's there in the first place.

But let’s just admit they are not Nazi salutes, eh ? ;)
I’m only continuing in our theme from yesterday, which I though was very good

I’ll agree to disagree on that, but in the spirit of good will I’ll retract. What about the journalist getting beaten up?

Not condoning it but not surprised and to be expected.
They see the MSM as the enemy, like the other side see the police as the enemy.
A very sorry and sad state of affairs
