Strange that Big Ben can chime for New Year's Eve yet it costs half a million a month later. I'd love to see a breakdown of that cost. Having said that I agree with Col it's bonkers or should that be 'bongers'?...

Probably less strange than random old gammon from Lincolnshire demanding a bell they can’t hear is rung.

A few weeks ago you were cheerleading for politicians who sold themselves out to keep their place in the Tories and denouncing those who stuck to their principles.
err no. I made it clear enough times on here that those who went against Boris should have gone. I said nothing about supporting him then betraying him like Starmer has done to Jezza. completely different. Starmer was part of Corbyn's main team and a big part of the problem. People can see that.

Has she had anywhere near the media hassle the Diana and Fergie had ?

I’d say she has had the most unfair publicity, lots of **** over nothing, the press are trying to manipulate the public’s perception and reinforce irrational dislike of her.

I completely disagree.

When Meghan and Harry got together the reaction from the vast majority of people was a positive one.
When they married thousands and thousands of of people lined the streets in support.
It was widely felt that she was a fantastic thing to happen to the Royal family.

No, all the criticism of Meghan has happened since she and Harry started lecturing people on how they should live whilst behaving in a hypocritical way themselves.
Harry is getting just as much criticism over this too, although people do seem to believe that Meghan is behind most of it and that Harry is totally beguilled by his wife.
I tend to think there's some validity in this, although Harry is understandably a very troubled guy, particularly with the press and their role in her death.

Whilst there are always racists who will jump on these things, I don't believe her colour or ethnicity have anything to do with all the criticism.

If they want to leave royal duties that's entirely up to them. However, they can't continue to receive tax payer and Royal money if they do imo.

The press always control the public perception just like elections !
People just cant or dont want to see it !
Still nowhere near the harassment others have had though .
Bit of drama queenery in this also

Man convicted of unprovoked homophobic attack on Guardian journalist Owen Jones:
‘’One item of memorabilia found in Healy’s home featured a “sun cross” – a white supremacist symbol – used by White Pride Worldwide with the “whatever it takes” motto of Combat 18 and “lead the way” used by the banned Loyalist Volunteer Force. Another said “Chelsea FC, no asylum seekers” .

The collection also included a black flag, bearing a “totenkopf” deaths head symbol, used by the Nazi SS, and the letters CYF, standing for Chelsea Youth Firm, a hooligan group associated with the west London football club. Healy had a tattoo associated with the group on his right arm, the court also heard.’’

you’re welcome to your opinion but say that Harry is totally beguiled by his wife has no foundation other than what the media has been pushing. They support certain causes and whilst I can see certain hypocrisy’s if by managing to bring more good by cutting a corner or two is well worth it, same with Greta if she as much as farts people scream hypocrite, yet she has managed to get a vitally important issue to the public stage like nobody else has.

The racism thing, I don’t believe that everyone who dislikes her is racist by any of the stretch of the image however there’s no doubt that is one of probably several factors as to why several do. Aren’t they planning to be financially independent?

They want to leave the royal family and be financially independent by using the. Royal name to sell teatowels

If he uses that what’s the problem? Do you not think other non ‘active’ royals do that? If you don’t like it don’t buy the products. Surely after what being a royal all his life has put him through I’d have no problem with him taking a little back.

We're not talking a little here, but a multi million dollar industry whereby the Sussexex sell the Royal name for profit worldwide. If they try, I hope they get sued by The Crown which must surely own the rights.
