For all the political skulduggery, whys, wherefores and WFTs, isn’t the simple fact that Johnson wants a GE is because he’s pretty confident the Tories will win a decent majority, and the reason why Corbyn is doing his utmost to thwart him is because he’s pretty confident the Tories will win a decent majority?

Namby Norks has also stolen a march on Corbyn by positioning the Nambies as the party of Remain, so Labour is stuck in the middle without a clear Brexit strategy.

Labour MP Keith Vaz faces six-month suspension after drug and sex probe https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-50212221

Obviously a victim rather than a lying, cheating sordid untrustworthy ****.

The guy has lied his way through the Parliamentary enquiry into his drug and rent boy activities. He should never be allowed back to the Lords and it says a lot about what is rotten in our system that a such a corrupt, lying toe-rag will once again have power over us in six months time

that makes sense. You want another referendum but complain about a GE. The flaw in your argument is that after a GE the result is respected and implemented whereas the referendum hasn't been.
The other point you make regarding talks with May and Corbyn was just a political stunt by labour. Corbin wanted to be seen outside No10, Fortunately May saw through his trick. they had no intentions of agreeing to anything. All theatre so Corbyn could score points.
Finally I have seen how different parties work together in other countries but we are different over here.
You say that after a General Election the result is respected and implemented - yet this must apply also in the case of a hung parliament ie. it was the mandate of the people. Just as the present constellation in Parliament is the mandate of the people, and you cannot just keep going back to them until one side has a majority. You talk often about the 'Will of the people' yet it is the will of the people that the parties work together to find a solution which is at least half acceptable to all. In respect of this it is now Johnson who is blocking Brexit by refusing to continue with finding acceptable amendments to his withdrawal agreement.

Boris wants a GE like the rest of us because it's a dead parliament.
Whatever he tries to do he is stopped by Labour/limps/SNP.
We need a good clear out. Lose the 21 and a few others like Soubrey, Chukka. Get rid of that muppet speaker and don't replace him with (HH) as she will be as bad. And bring in people who will respect the Brexit result and democracy.
Some can knock the Tories and Boris and say how bad they are but we will find out soon enough.
I am more than happy to have a GE and confident the people will support Boris.
Breaking: it seems a deal has been done with Tories and limps/SNP for December 11th. See you there!

Labour does not want a 'Brexit' election - they want an election which is based on a much wider range of themes. Brexit may well be dried and dusted in 3 months whereas an election is about who runs the country for the next 5 years.

Sorry CH but you are just making excuses.
We voted in the referendum and the result was leave. Accept it.

We don't know what 'leave' means Ellers - it meant different things to different people, and, before the referendum, the 'Norway' model was being touted by people such as Bojo and Farage as a possible outcome. We were on the way to finding a Brexit which was acceptable but Johnson has blocked it himself.

Leave means leave with no deal, oh no I've changed my mind it means with May's deal, oh forget that, let's leave with this excellent deal that Bojo has negotiated. Nobody scrutinise this deal though, just vote for it! Lemmings will have Bojos back as they believe every lie that comes out of his mouth.

Boris looked like a snivelling little fat weasel in parliment yesterday. He is tragically hilarious though in his role as PM. The break up of the union will go down in history taking us back to the dark ages!

The referendum question should have been:
(1)Leave without a deal.
(2)Leave with a deal that will be negotiated 2 years after the referendum.
(3)Leave with a different deal to the 1st one, negotiated by a blatant liar, 3 years after the referendum.
(4)Remain

With do or die added to each one. No ifs or buts. Hindsight is such a valuable thing

I'm bored now.....old arguments. Move on fella. It will be sorted soon.
Boris and Farage have a deal and we will leave the corrupt EU.

Oh crap that treacherous Lord Adonis is on bleating on about a
”losers vote”. He's another one I will be glad to see the back of.
So... All the Tory election team are in No 10. Now someone has just said Limps may do a U turn on this election.

Oh dear... Guess what????????
Jezza has just said he will support an early election :emoticon-0140-rofl:
Funny I thought he said just yesterday he wouldn't?
And guess what.... The excuse he gave was what I said earlier!
Unelectable muppet <laugh>

I have a mind of my own ellers. I can make choices for myself. I have that ability to change my mind. Now run along and do as Boris tells you!

Nothing will be sorted soon Ellers - this is not the end of Brexit, but the beginning of it. There now follows a long and difficult process of negotiating the future trading relationship, which will be far more difficult than any deal so far. To an extent I have 'moved on' and, although I think brexit is a mad idea, and that the first referendum was a mistake I can come to terms with it. What is more of a horror is the idea of Johnson having a possible majority for the next 5 years. We should have already gained an idea of how far right the present government is by how many moderates have been purged from the party. What we face is the possible return to the ravages of the Thatcher years - though even worse than this - deregulation, evaporation of workers rights and environmental controls, the NHS as we know it. Where our only ideological bedfellow will be Trump. All of this can be set into movement by people voting just to get Brexit over the line. People should not be thinking about Brexit - but rather asking whether they want to give Johnson and his cronies a free reign for the next 5 years. If the post Brexit future involves Britain turning into a bargain basement society which exists only to make itself attractive for foreign investment (yet mumbles about sovereignty), if the future involves Britain turning itself into a tax oasis before the gates of Europe (like Singapore for Asia) and a dumping ground for every product which America wants to get rid of then I want no part of this. This is the battle I am thinking of Ellers - what comes after ?
