I know I can’t wait until this generation gets rid of these nationalist ideas and views
It’s come from severe brainwashing over the years imo the silly ****s have been brought up on a diet where 1945 German motorcyclists always end up crashing into duck ponds. Look at our history since then? and still they bark on

Churchill’s Pups Swords used to call them and he was bang on imo

Personally, I would ride pillion with a German motorcyclist anywhere where there isn't a duck pond.

A new addition today to the list of ever more bizarre ruses suggested for Johnson to use to get out of asking for an A50 extension. He writes requesting the extension, then he writes again cancelling the request. Brilliant! Does anyone seriously think that that wouldn't be breaking the law? What next, asking for the extension with his fingers crossed, so it doesn't count?

This is interesting, Stroller...

Brexit: Why France is unlikely to veto delay https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49640344

Who knows how the EU member states will vote, but it only needs one to decline a request to extend the deadline. It is useful to remind ourselves that the Irish do not want a ‘no deal’ and their interests are likely to sway the other members to grant an extension.

That says to me, at least, that keeping ‘no deal’ as an option is imperative in order to drive the EU into a deal that works for our esteemed parliamentarians.

Fascinating state of affairs now. Parliament says Boris can’t do ‘no deal’ and must ask for an extension to end-January 2020. Assuming the EU grants that extension and (let’s say) Boris wins a GE before the next expiry date, what’s the deal that delivers Brexit?

If Johnson gets a workable majority at the GE, presumably he can overturn what’s just passed into law, ie do a ‘no deal’ Brexit?

If he doesn’t, or the recent ruling can’t be or isn’t reversed, then we shall see whether the EU has latitude in what they proposed to May after all.

That inexecrable hag Thornberry banged on during QT about Labour negotiating a decent Brexit arrangement but then the likes of her effectively campaigning against it for Remaining. Voters putting an X against a Labour candidate in a GE are voting for what exactly where Brexit is concerned?

A vote for the Nambies is a vote to Remain, but then you’ve got to put up with the country being run by geography teachers, members of CAMRA and traction engine enthusiasts for the next 5 years.

If the Scots want to Remain they’ll overwhelmingly elect SNP right across the board. If an alliance with them is required to form a government the price will be another independence vote. An interesting one on its own.

Will the Tories need the Brexit Party? Maybe, maybe not. It seems to me that Johnson has taken Farage’s ground, so hardline Brexiteers might now see a Conservative government as the best opportunity to Leave.

But, if there’s an extension but intransigence from the EU, but a ‘Brexit’ government, it can only be a ‘no deal’ exit, can’t it? How could any democrat deny that?

The only Remain must be the Nambies.

A world of pain must be Labour.

****fest Central.

I’d be interested in the thoughts on this from anyone that believed that the implications of ‘no deal’, ie WTO, were never discussed prior to the 2016 referendum.

Of course I did with friends exactly why we could see back then it would be extremely difficult. WTO rules appeared to the public long after the vote imo. It was never really discussed as a main point to anyone
I think we have proven that what followed was no plan at all after the shock of the protest vote

About time people admitted that didn’t heap all the blame into the EU hence why I believe remainers never even thought they would lose and the people that didn’t vote suddenly woke up to the fact very quickly that leaving would be a bad idea. We are still leaving no problem with that but no way will I ever believe that Leavers carefully considered the full impact of Brexit

They know it know and there is still no plans at all plus imo you have a solid mass of people that still want to remain over 60% as I have always said

I think the point is that it was never discussed by the Leave campaign. We were going to get 'the easiest trade deal in history'. Remain might have brought it up as part of 'Project Fear' of course, but no one believed any of that nonsense.

I think everyone thought some sort of deal would be reached and so it wasn’t considered as it didn’t reach the collective psyche as a likely scenario.
