Government cannot run their policy based on threats of job losses or anything else. No one sane wants a no deal, but government has to consider all arguments when formulating negotiating strategy. Preventing possible job losses is one of them.
Yep, it’s a game of chicken.

Not funny, just correct in what I posted earlier. Funnily now many are coming out saying how irresponsible his comments were. If you want to cover your ears, then so be it. However for me, I like to listen, think, understand.
Did you misinterpretate it?

Exactly. Varadkar claiming today that no deal is a existential threat to Ireland. Put a reasonable end date on the backstop then, and May's deal would probably get through
Did you hear that Hammond cancelled their meeting in Davos today? The Torygraph were saying he was snubbed and is just a pawn for the EU.

Airbus moving back to France
14,000 jobs
CEO said in a global economy the U.K. does not enough to go it alone and government has been a disgrace

Brexiteers who want to play Churchill ... he didn’t have the real gear either a couple of wonderful speeches and a big slice of luck
Oh dear more remoaner scaremongering, and for your information I actually work closely at times with airbus transport, taking the wings to Toulouse and they actually have NO INTENTION of moving operations to France as it would be cost prohibitive and would take years to build and tool up new facilities in France.

French newspapers say Toulouse as it’s presented as a boost over here
French fake news again, just trying to big up Macron after all the yellow jacket ( which according to you never happened) activity.
As I have said elsewhere on this thread Airbus cannot afford the time or the cost of re-tooling and moving an entire wing manufacturing plant to Toulouse.

I think this France thing as got out of hand.
I only mentioned how good our work force was in the UK compared to say 'France'. I never said they would move there... I mean the planes would never get their wings as the French only work about 3 hours a week.:emoticon-0100-smile

I think I did hear that. The EU are getting rattled. What worries me is that the Cooper/Boles attempt to take no deal off the table next Tues will allieviate all the pressure on the EU

I see things slightly differently. The EU seem to be sticking to their guns, wanting May to consider her red lines. We are the ones rattled, anyone, anywhere in the world watching this fiasco can clearly see that.

We are having huge difficulty reaching a consensus in Parliament, true. Increasingly, Ireland is under pressure from member states. Yesterday, the EU admitted that a no deal would mean Ireland putting up a hard border. Ireland denied immediately but know one believes it.
