As far as the Trump thing goes, it’s because he’s ‘president’ - the position most people consider the most powerful in the world. And he has the potential to harm everyone with his bigoted, xenophobic behaviour.

As far as other stuff? Some do, others don’t. Some things resonate and others don’t. I guess it’s that for most people, being militant via social media is easier, less public, and therefore they go after the most publicised stuff. And as bad as the Saudi regime is, it doesn’t get advertised that much in the western press. There are probably a number of reasons shy that is...

But Willy, you are an intelligent and well read bloke. I assume you know about ‘poor doors’ ? (I keep using that as an example as it’s a real bugbear of mine) Now what makes Trump more of a focus of protest than something like that, which is closer to home and makes our own, poor ,disadvantaged people feel like second or even third class citizens and is appalling....so why is that not important and Trump is ?

Not aiming this at you personally, honestly mate, no more digs......just really interested in why you think it is. The whole ‘trendy, hate Trump’ thing is my thought.....am I wrong ?

European human rights chiefs have told the British press it must not report when terrorists are Muslim.
The recommendations came as part of a list of 23 meddling demands to Theresa May’s government on how to run the media in an alarming threat to freedom speech.
The report, drawn up by the Council of Europe's human rights watchdog, blamed the recent increase in hate crimes and racism in the UK on the 'worrying examples of intolerance and hate speech in the newspapers, online and even among politicians', although the research was done before the EU referendum campaign had even begun.
The suggestions sent to Downing Street urging the UK Government to reform criminal law and freedom of the press and in a brutal criticism of the British press, the report recommends ministers 'give more rigorous training' to journalists.
But UK ministers firmly rebutted the remarkable demands, telling the body: 'The Government is committed to a free and open press and does not interfere with what the press does and does not publish, as long as the press abides by the law.'

You certainly won’t hear me saying that any kind of inequality is right, whatever it is and whatever generates it.

All I can do is talk to my own view - that Trump is a major threat to so much that protesting till he’s out of office and in jail isn’t something I can personally stop. Doesn’t mean I don’t care about other stuff, and don’t object and get involved at different levels.

But Trump is a subject people engage with. Other things don’t generate interest on discussion boards.

Staines! Trump is President of the USA , not so long ago known as the leader of the free world. I have no idea if hating him is trendy or not but it certainly doesn't surprise me many are very concerned. If he has done what it looks like, he needs locking up for a long time. He makes Nixon look like a small time thief.

Not denying that Oslo.....the man is a vile, disgusting individual.....but my point was that I don’t get why he is more important to many im this country to protest against, when there is far worse abuse dished out to our own underclass that, I’m my opinion, is far more worthy of protest...

Music and Apple computers apart from that I am not worried what they do

Why because they do t really give a ****e about anyone in the global arena

Individual people from anywhere I take as and when I meet them

I would say Putin, Jinping much bigger leaders and fish to fry imo

Trump is a trend nothing more
About time people understood who runs America it’s not Donald Trump hence why I very much enjoy his theatre against the unseen power. Trump support from their people is strong , super strong and there is the facts about why it happened .

Ryanair will still be the top airline
McDonalds will still flip great Burgers
TK Maxx will still sell seconds and fakes
Amazon will still pay no taxes
Apple will still bring out products we will all want and buy
Vegans will still claim they are right
Sky won’t clean up the ocean until all plastics are stopped
Man United will survive without JM
The U.K. will continue in the arms trade
Women will continue to be overlooked for top professional jobs

Brexit will be played out to equalise the clear divide the government denied even existed

U.K. people with lump on debt to their homes and think they are not in debt

The next Trump outrage is just around the corner ... be prepared x

In France you need to show you can make €515 a month, a couple €840 after five years you can think of making the move permanently. I believe there is a small percentage of U.K. immigrants that have truly come in just to sponge off the state
Not many nations allow this we are no exception yet it’s delivered that the European immigrants are the problem. On the whole I believe immigrants work a lot better in whatever nation they move to and are a important factor in any nation of the world

People must be given the right to work and better their situation imo. We have a generation who maybe never will understand the skills and determination required to move across the world. Following the boo hoo blame culture of the US we all cry it’s their fault ... We sold out and enjoyed doing so it was a one way ticket imo as we consider ourselves masters ...

Masters of our own castles firstly
Masters of manufacturing, invention and technology
Masters of decency and diplomacy
Etc etc

Love to see that return of course but looks doubtful to me
 
Trump's still going on about this 'rigged witchhunt' and insisting he knew nothing about the Russia meeting, the contents of the meeting, or that there was anything untoward happening from Russia towards the election - and even if there was, he know nothing about it.

June 3, 2016 Rob Goldstone emails Trump Jr. about meeting a Russian lawyer to discuss "very high level and sensitive information (..) part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr Trump".

"If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer," Trump Jr. replied.

June 7, 2016 Trump Jr. emails Goldstone: "It will likely be Paul Manafort (campaign boss) my brother in law [Jared Kushner] and me."

The same day Donald Trump says on the campaign trail that he will be "discussing all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons" on "probably Monday next week".

June 9, 2016 at 4:00PM Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort meet the Russians in Trump Tower.

4:27PM Trump Jr. talks on phone with a blocked number for 4 minutes. Nine minutes later, @realDonaldTrump tweets for the first time about Clinton's emails:

"How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up--and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted?"

July 27, 2016 Donald Trump says at news conference "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing".

That evening the Russians made their first attempt to break into the servers at Clinton’s personal office.

October 12, 2016, Wikileaks wrote in a private message to Trump Jr. "Strongly suggest your dad tweets this link if he mentions us. (..) Btw we just released Podesta Emails Part 4,"

15 minutes later, @realDonaldTrump tweeted:"Very little pick-up by the dishonest media of incredible information provided by WikiLeaks. So dishonest! Rigged system!"

And yet he insists it's a witch hunt and that he know nothing.

Yeah, right. And we're top of the league...
