Not sure what you're saying. Whether or not its' the UK, Bulgaria or Timbuktu, I've never seen speech bubbles when overhearing two people walking a couple of hundred yards away on an empty winter road. Still, lets not get in the way of the facts.

 

The players and coaches of my adopted Bundesliga team, Hertha Berlin, 'took a knee' today in solidarity with protesting NFL players.

Good for them.

 

Was that while the German National Anthem was playing?

 

I don't think so. Isn't it just in America where the national anthem is played before club games?

 

I'm not sure. If they took a knee what was going on at the time?

We will get an excellent snapshot of the motivations and ethics of our elected representatives if Theresa May allows the proposed constituency boundary changes to be voted on in Parliament. The net effect is a reduction of 50 seats, with seats of similar population sizes, at last. Of course, because it’s been carried out under a Tory Government it will be perceived that Labour loses out, though Johnson B and Davies D would be under serious threat. Voting against would obviously be an act of self preservation, at the taxpayers expense, and anti democratic - at present the parts of the U.K. with their own devolved governments have more MPs at Westminster per head of population than the English.

But never fear, it won’t happen because the DUP oppose it and May can’t do anything without them. There won’t even be a vote. As my MP, Matt Western (Lab), still hasn’t managed to open an office in his constituency, the notion of a ‘local’ MP is something of a novelty to me, wouldn't make much difference if I was voting in a constituency which includes Mars.

Elsewhere, Somerset Capital Management invests in an Indonesian company which makes abortion drugs. Nothing wrong with that of course. The founder, former CEO and current partner and financial beneficiary of Somerset Capital Management is the highly principled Catholic fundamentalist Jacob Rees Mogg. So he wishes to deny women the right to choose abortion, but is quite happy to get cash from abortion. Just as hypocritical as the rest, if not worse, as he is hypocritical about his self professed ‘faith’, not just venal politics. His defence “Since I’ve been an MP I don’t make any investment decisions for Somerset Capital Management”. What a loathsome spotted toad. But at least his God will be denied a few pathetic souls because of his investment. Roll on judgement day Jake!

 

Not to mention his own. Is it not a mortal sin to take the life of another? And isn't it a life after all? I wonder what other ethical investments he holds.
