Looks like Labour doing a deal with the Party looking to rejoin the EU, giving away Labours true intent. Even on Wednesday Labour were backing EU against UK in our oral questions.

Is it not too dissimilar to when Farages party colaberated with the Tories for votes?
Cant really see how voting for a local councillor translates to wanting to rejoin the EU but i suppose desperate times calls for desperate measures and 'brexit' is the Tories only weapon.

Wow, Johnson takes credit for free bus travel for pensioners when informed of a 77 year old lady who rides the buses all day because she can’t afford to heat her home.

BP made £6.2bn profit for the first 3 months of the year, 33% more than forecast. It’s CEO describes the company as a ‘cash machine’. This profit simply comes from the market price of oil and gas, not from any value added by the company, and recent rises are driven by the war in Ukraine. So BP are, very explicitly, profiteering from war.

Needs no further comment.

Cant tax them though they might decide to move away so that they can earn less money here.

Many women and children have fled Ukraine
Potentially abusive men are using a UK scheme to host Ukrainian refugees - to contact vulnerable women, BBC News has learned.

The men, some with a reported history of violence, message the women on Facebook groups specially set up to connect sponsors and hosts.

Some refugees have also become homeless after relations with hosts broke down or because housing was not well vetted.

But a UK government official said safeguards were in place.

These included "Home Office security and background checks on all sponsors, before visas are issued", and at least one council visit to a sponsor's property.

A charity head labelled the Homes for Ukraine scheme dangerous and said she was "shocked by the absence of safeguarding checks".

Seems they are still way behind in offering accomodation to those who need it, and government not really pushing the boat out to help

Great news, Shell has declared record profits of over £9bn (even more than BP!) for the first 3 months of the year. Once again, much more than forecast and of course totally unearned, entirely due to the markets for oil and gas. It’s the literal definition of a windfall! Better not tax the windfall though, in case they don’t like it.

Forgot about my postsl vote. Just sitting on my table.

Oh well its only local elections. Will save my voting virginity for the big one
