I think the biggest problem viewing what is going on is proportionality, Russia has to all intents and purposes totally destroyed the 2nd largest country in Europe after saying for months it had no intention of invading when everyone knew it would. It continues to say all the horrific videos of atrocities are 'staged' when many have been witnessed in plain sight and captured conscripts give evidence that civilian areas were targeted. Yes, there were atrocities carried out by 'Nazi' groups over the years but the response is beyond any reasonable level, that is why the vast majority view Russia as the bad guys. They have a long history of this sort of thing and the fact they lie to their own people about it speaks volumes...
My smart meter told me that we spent £11.34 on energy yesterday, and its showing over £9 already today. That would equate to over £4k per annum. We're fortunate enough to be able to pay these amounts, but how are those less fortunate supposed to cope? Much more must be done to help those on the breadline.
Agreed. As well as ensuring that those who are more well off are not allowed to claim certain benefits….or at least have them curtailed.
Yeah, me too. That’s going some to get up to >£11, Strolls. Have you got the tumble dryer on 24/7 in your 10-bed country pile?
Power prices going up here too Bloody fixed daily charges during the summer I spend more on having gas pipes attached to my house than I do on what's in them
There's 4 adults and two kids in my place, with the adults working from home most of the time, so there's a lot of stuff on all day.
Silly question (I only ask ‘cos I’m going through this at the moment and sound like my dad) but do you find yourself constantly trying to save electric/gas ? I’m now constantly moaning at the kids to turn lights/games/plugs/stand by stuff off and always turning the heating off/down.
Do you think a smart meter helps you think more about consumption ? I’ve resisted so far due to the bullying ways they try to get you to have one…however I’m getting tempted
