The bottom line is the poor are getting poorer, and more disenfranchised.

The internet allows people to see what "they are missing".
the media encourages people to believe they could be an Alan Sugar, a Jayzee, a Kate moss.
Our urban mythology is full of people making money..in Football, music, fashion, drug barons, get rich schemes.

We have lost respect for our leaders, our elders, even our wise people.

Now is not a good time to bring up children.

Blimey Beth, you do seem a bit down of late.
Hope you're ok.

My council spaffed thousands on a cycle lane through the town that no **** uses, and just causes mass congestion every day....and we've some of the most deprived areas in Scotland. I mean, what the ****? Spend my council tax wisely you twats

My council put a cycle lane in outside the local school, unfortunately they put it beside the fencing making the children walk by the road I did manage to get a local councillor to have a look while agreeing it was wrong and would need changing nothing has happened

So, our government has failed to control the use of this country, especially London (or Londongrad as it is known in anti corruption circles) as a money laundering hub and centre for dirty Russian kleptocrat money. Money which was stolen from the Russian people as public industries were asset stripped. Johnson has refused to allow the economic crime bill to go forward, which might just have made us a little less attractive to Uber crooks. It’s the yanks who are calling us out in this. Our total failure to even enforce existing rules has made us an international laughing stock. One of the consequences of this is huge difficulty in imposing personal sanctions that hurt on Putin and his cronies. Because they own Belgravia.

But the government does have the energy to try and close a ‘loophole’ which helps people working from home claim a £125 annual tax rebate. That’ll get the bastards back in offices so our landlord chums don’t suffer.

Liz Truss takes a £500k private flight to Australia when a £7,700 business class scheduled flight would have got her there quicker. They could have hired the whole business class cabin serval dozen times over. Her thinking ‘this is why the government has planes’. She might have had to come back quickly because of the Ukraine situation. Presumably to fight on the frontline, with her personal state paid photographer, because the internet and telephone lines would seem adequate for all her other contributions.

Sue Gray report to be redacted in case it interferes with police investigation. An investigation which can, at most, result in a series of £100 fines.

Nadhim Zahawi, Education Secretary, personally thanked by Sanjeev Gupta, owner of GFG Alliance steel makers, for helping him get £400m in COVID loans via Greensill, the collapsed scam machine involving ex PM David Cameron. The £400m will never be paid back.

It’s a ****ing embarrassment.

“Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?” J. Lydon.

Absolute bollocks kids killing kids in gang situations have been going on for years, like I mentioned the Glasgow model has been touted for over a decade, I’ve mentioned it on here numerous times I’m well aware of what’s going on.

I’ll leave it though there’s no point going back and forth with you when you’re like this, you’ve pretty much ignored everything I’ve mentioned and put a bullshit narrative that I don’t care about youth deaths and throwing out stupid insults. Shame really I was glad when you came back on here because you often give different views, opinions and ways of looking at things that pretty much everyone respects, just not when you’re like this.

This post sounds unbelievably complacent. The UK has not seen a knifing epidemic like it for centuries. Sure, there was a localised Glasgow problem, but that was the exception. Gangs, whether Teddy boys, Mods, Rockers, Skinheads, Punks did not go around killing each other - the use of a knife was incredibly rare. It was mostly boot and fist. The Teds used razors. Even organised crime rarely used lethal weapons when there was a death penalty. They disfigured enemies with a cut throat razor to the face.

There is a countrywide problem with knives now. In London, it's pretty much a black thing. Black boys are killing other black boys for the most spurious reasons. I'm heartened that there seems to be a groundswell of repulsion from the black community (I saw this in Croydon) that is prepared to hold its nose and work with the Met police to bring an end to it. So many young lives are being lost now, often kids not directly involved with gangs. Stainsey is absolutely right, this is a major problem.

They need to listen to people like Akala’s… this was in 2017. People such as Akala who offer incite and offer reasoned debate and discussion are ignored by those who can influence and make a difference.

I will re-emphasise I’ve never once suggested youth violence isn’t a problem, that’s a total misrepresentation of the points I was making and why I objected so strongly, what I said is it’s not a new thing (this video being in 2017) shows it’s rightly been talked about for years, so why is it now it takes over for discussion? Why wasn’t it last week? Last month? Last year? It shouldn’t be used to shut down conversation about other issues such as the constant reports of government scandal, Truss in the news today I see. There will always be important national and international issues going on, they don’t mean we give a free pass to everything that can be seen as less important.

So according to this rapper, black boys are stabbing other black boys because of self-hate. Sociological clap trap. It's power, drug turf, easy money, tribe, excitement and pure thuggery. In the 1960's, the Kray twins were exceptions in the criminal underworld by killing some of their opponents. Now, we have gangs of Kray twins all across London and, sadly, the increasingly prevalent attitude across the population is to shrug and say, we've tried everything, let them get on with it. Really sad.

Clap trap? Is that why he talks about these exact issues on a professional level and we talk about it on here? I’d suggest he’s considerably more knowledgeable on the subject matter than either of us and offers potential ideas and methods to tackle these problems.. where others don’t, in the hope that they don’t just get on with it.

I’m done with discussing this issue, not because it’s not important and won’t continue to be, but because I’ve repeated the same stand points over and over, I’ve seen nobody offer anything new to the debate any of the many times it’s been brought up on this thread. If there are new ideas, new points.. yeah of course but so far there aren’t …
