Honestly Ellers I have no idea. Until recently I had assumed some kind of deal would be done, but I think it’s drifting away. I’ve said on here that, even though I wanted us to stay in, we should have been planning for a complete split since June 2016, it would have hurt but it would have been manageable and oddly less divisive for the country. We would have paid the EU something for an amicable split, and got on to the real business. But essentially we have wasted 2.5 years going round in circles. It’s not so much the final outcome that worries me, it’s the chaos underway at the moment with no end in sight, and the fact that the whole Irish thing is a set of logical contradictions which no one has attempted to address.

A (hopefully brief and minor) global recession is starting up. Brexit will make it worse for us, though it will be hard to tell what is a global problem and what is a Brexit problem. The markets, which I loathe with a passion, will kill us, unless there is somewhere weaker to kill. And there are plenty of candidates out there.

On one level I don’t give a toss, it’s just politics. But politics is about to move into the real economic and social world, real people, real lives.

I’m off to Dallas for work tomorrow and then on to Indianapolis next week. I’ll report back on how ****ty the Yanks feel about everything.
Cool.
I sort of agree, the way everyone is arguing I can't see anyone agreeing to anything.
Enjoy Dallas. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just caught up with the news. What a plank May really is. It's weird though cos I do hope she gets a deal over a no deal any day of the week. Not as good as staying in the EU but better than being totally out of it in my opinion.

Unlikely, the work will be fun but I’m in an airport hotel for three days. Apparently we get to escape for Texas BBQ at some stage, but no one has much positive to say about Dallas, unlike Austin, which is meant to be great.

I went to DC and stayed at an airport hotel for the first night and ordered a half plate of BBQ chicken/ribs and chip. When it arrived i nearly fell off the bar stall. It could have fed 6 people. <yikes> lucky I didn't order a whole plate.

In the US you have to resist your British post war training from your Mum to finish everything on your plate, unless you really want life on a mobility scooter. I never have lunch when I’m there.

Yes I did notice a few overweight people. A burger joint on every corner doesn't help.

I had a chicken sandwich at Kissimmee Golf Club in Florida, the chicken must have played for the Miami Dolphins, with a side of fries and a forest of salad, it could have fed me for the two weeks I was there...

Theres no point stroller. These brextremeists on here are just so full of ****e. May and etiquette. What a ****ing joke. She is a liar simple as that. She has lied to 17.4m people who voted to leave.
Agree she has lied to 17.4 million voters, but as you asked me to stop calling him who shall not be mentioned a europhile clown, can you stop calling leave voters brextemeists, we are not extremists we are just people that voted leave, which if I recall was one of only 2 options on the ballot paper.

WTF ??
He was going on about the impending doom of Brexit a few months ago.....why’s he suddenly changed his tune ? Does anyone know ?
He probably knows FA about what's going to happen as the rest of us... or he may know something? <yikes>

When are they going to sack that trechorous Olly Robbins! The muppet was in a bar in Brussels last night and was overheard saying "it's her deal or an extension". The twat was undermining her to bloody EU boys.
WE must get rid now!

I was in New York and ordered chicken and mashed potatoes. Never seen anything like the amount of spuds on the plate. If Sherpa Tensing had been with me he'd have tried to climb the bloody thing...

Dan, what does that awareness ribbon relate to? Couldn’t really find it unless it’s lymphoma.

It’s done it’s job by prompting me to ask.

The Danish Gov't has decided to unilaterally allow for all UK citizens domiciled in DK prior to March 29, exactly the same status rights as before.
I may also have played down the effects of trading on WTO in some of my previous posts - wholly apologise.
Have had a series of meetings with 2 of the main Accountancy firms and the Indirect Tax issue is going to be quite a burden.
In shipping we have always been quite adept at avoiding these things through the complexities of how and where vessels are flagged - I'm always petrified when I see these sheisters (The Big 5) + the Mkinseys/BCG etc licking their lips at the prospect of new business.
Let the stock piling begin!!

That special place in Hell is going to be rather busy - of course if it is endothemic, it ironically will quite a nice climate in time, I'm sure Tusk hasn't thought of that.
