Applause for Crystal Palace, who are opening a lounge in the stand for homeless people when the temperature drops below freezing. Beds for ten, a hot meal, breakfast and showers. Eight people used the facility on Thursday.

Of course it’s a shame this is necessary. Actually it’s a ****ing disgrace. But I’m all in favour of doing what you can, with the resources available to you, when you see something that isn’t right, in addition to simply whining about it (whining is a part of getting change though).

So good for Palace.

Anything to double their gate, I s’pose...

I don’t think UKIP would benefit without Farage, and now they are explicitly a far right crypto fascist party even he won’t touch them with a barge pole. He’ll need to set up another party to capture the disenchanted vote, I’m sure Banks and Putin will pay for it.

If Farage made himself available to UKIP, I think they'd take him back in a heat beat. Much depends on May. If she turns against the ERG, there will be 80 + Tory MP's looking for a new home.

Fair enough Goldie, it was immigration for you wasn't it?

No one seems to be able to come up with anything specific on the sovereignty front, though. Funny that.

Control over immigration was one reason, so that the UK could determine who we wanted. There have been some great EU immigrants - there have also been criminals and spongers. And UK companies were more than happy to take cheap labour from Eastern Europe to undercut the UK market - good for rich businessman, hard on the UK worker.

The Leave vote was not just about money. It was about identity, community, borders and security. Sovereignty covers all of those.

I'm happy as long as they don't use my parking space...

Anyone else find it ironic that May's plan is to keep holding votes on the same thing until she gets the result she wants?
TBH I don't know what the FFFF she is doing. Her deal will never change with the EU because it would break their rules; I can't see. It won't get through the Commons unless she blackmails all the MP's with no deal/no Brexit.
I think it will come down to her threatening a GE which neither party wants. Tories because they would lose seats. Labour because they would be in a pickle over Brexit. Plus Corbyn doesn't want to have to deal with the mess we are in.
I see Brexit killing democracy. it takes 600 MP's to cock up what 17.4M people voted for. Shocking really.

The trouble with 'consultation' is it is an excuse for those that have the power to say they've 'engaged' with all sides and then totally ignore the 'concerns' raised. Local councils are past masters of consultation that is an exercise in box-ticking. May is simply playing the game as are all the others, they're politicians which I think is a suitable euphemism for 'c*nts'...

Reactions: ELLERS
It depends what time period you’re talking but being outvoted the most isn’t the same as being outvoted most of the time which has never been the case.

Correct re time periods ... selective thinking

What the nation voted for then and what we feel now is a concept that Brexiteers totally ignore
They still think in the past regarding all things British when will the British public understand the power of now

Just watched QT. I can't believe I'm agreeing with Ellers but Abbott is bloody useless!! But that right wing Isabelle woman is absolutely vile. The audience was very much about the immigration and freedom of movement part of leaving. Everyone wants something different, this is going absolutely nowhere......until the 29th March or whatever it is. There will never be an agreement from a majority. I so wish we could rewind 2 and a bit years and for this to have never happened. It's ridiculous, embarrassing, pathetic, disorganised bollocks which really needs to end. This country is going to the dogs while we watch theses weasel politicians taking tax payers money to do nothing but divide a nation. Great Britain.....my arse!!!

Agreed she doesn’t give out anything that wouldn’t make the man on the street dispair
Labour are still extremely weak but the ethics especially with JC are at least sound

Bloke at least sticks to his beliefs and does the job in the right way ... remember Labour used to be fake Tory anyway . Admire his stance also over joining in with May’s current rubbish... she should of been cast out weeks ago

Lack of real people in UK politics anyway

Votes every week
Can't wait

Some rather unpleasant scenes in Washington yesterday when a bunch of teenagers wearing MAGA hats confronted a group of elderly Native Americans on an Indigenous People's March. The brats in the hats were chanting 'Build The Wall', the irony of which was seemingly lost on them.

What kind of respect are they teaching at Catholic schools ?
A disgrace

All the more ironic given that the majority of people who would be kept out of the US by the wall are actually, ahem, Catholics <doh>

To be fair as Stroller says, I think any irony would be completely lost on the little scumbags......the video of the old fella being totally calm and chanting in the face of such abuse actually got me very emotional....both anger and sadness.
