If you're going to be cursed by terribly-timed bad luck, I suppose having it happen on Friday the 13th makes it easier to commit to memory. Positives!
Being a fan during the play offs is brutal at the best of times, that Derby penalty shoot out is still fresh in the memory! Even worse when you get knocked out by a team u finished 20 points better off than, a right kick in the balls!
As does 2-0. They can do that. I can confirm though, having watched in the pub, we do not have exclusivity on negative fun-sponge fans. There was one guy in there who was telling anyone who would listen (which was nobody) how that was it, no chance, forget Wembley, after 60 minutes. I nicknamed him 'Tintin' in my head. No idea why.
Comparing the Pool game seems rather odd for a number of reasons. We hadn't just failed to gain auto promotion, we hadn't just lost four players to injury (probably due to bad prep) & we are NOT ****ty Brighton. I rest my case your honor.
There are plenty of games where people have come back from a 2-0 deficit. Especially over 90 minutes at home. Yeah, it's a tough ask, but calling the tie over is insane at this point.
The antipathy towards Brighton is a strange one. Yes, Poyet was a dick at that point, but then so was Adkins. Neither team were. I've a huge amount of time for Chris Hughton, and I'd love to see them in the Premier League. Really well run club, and they deserve it. The fact they've been massively unlucky in this match makes me hope they do it even more. But apparently they may as well not bother turning up? It's 2-0, not 4-0, and they at least have their best defender back for this game. LuaLua and Wilson have the talent on the right day to easily turn this around.
You know my feelings on this. I didn't like them under Poyet, but there's no reason for me to dislike them anymore. Living here, working here and covering the team has actually made me fond of them. I hope the winners of the play-offs come from this half of the draw, rather than being Derby or Hull.
I would like Brighton to come up because the south has been under represented in the EPL...we need to break the domination by the north and London.
