This is not going to be pleasant reading for the real Jack supporters, but I am compelled to let you know what is happening behind the scenes at the Liberty stadium, and it will not be music to the ears of the real Jack supporters! As of lunchtime today, I was told by a Plastic corporate Jack, that the club has sold 14,000 season tickets, but a great amount of these tickets are going to corporate fat cats all over Wales, and while you where being told that the remaining tickets (2000) would go on sale tomorrow, the club was still today selling tickets to the plastic corporate. Many real jacks turned up at the Liberty today only to be told that there were no tickets being released today, but that you need to come back tomorrow, but the truth is the club has been selling tickets to the plastic all day, now don't misunderstand, these are not the limited VIP Corporate, but the general seating that is being sold to the plastic, and by this time tomorrow over 16,000 tickets will have been sold, much of it to the plastic, when you account for the 2000 away tickets, there will be a miserly 2000 tickets left for the real supporters who have brought this club to where they are. In short the real supporters thats you, have been sold down the Swanee, and the bottom line is you will find it very difficult next season to see your team play. I have no ulterior motive in telling you this, other than to say that the club could have managed this far better, and given priority to those who have been so loyal over the years, very disappointed in the way the club, have allowed the ticket office to manage this free for all to the plastic! There are going to be many disappointed real Jack supporters, make no mistake about it. I'm not going to blame Huw Jenkins, or the board, because I don't know how much real control they have over this inept ticket office, but suffice to say the real supporters have been sold out.

I have been told that the Liberty can be modified without too much expense to accommodate another 5000 fans, and I would urge the Swansea city Board to give this matter some serious priority, because it's not good enough, to let the grass roots rank and file Jacks to be left to whither out in the frozen cold, so come on Swansea city sort it out, prove that you are the club that is run by the supporters, for the supporters. and get these extra seats sorted.

PS: If you don't go down tomorrow to get your season ticket, then you will not get one, even if you do go down tomorrow, you will not be guaranteed one! I can't believe we have this situation, just hours after the Wembley dust has settled!
 
Yes I know PGF, but do you think that everyone could have afforded that, after the extra costings of the play-offs, and Wembley? the truth is that pretty much all the ground will be sold to season tickets, and much of that will be new plastic, which will freeze out the real supporters who have been so loyal over the years, trust me on this, I have been drinking with some fat cats all afternoon!...............

It would not surprise at all, and i do not doubt one word of it, and to be honest with you if this is the case, they should be ashamed of themselves, Dragon the board would have all the say on the conditions of sales for season tickets, Stad co are cpmmissioned by the swans to sell them. our board call the shots on this

Wouldn't the 'real' fans have bought their season tickets already, and not waited until after they knew what league we would be playing in next season.

If you are talking about non-season ticket holders , then I am sorry , but priority must be given to fans who are able to go to all matches. I posted back on the old 606 board stating that even if fans were only able to see just over 50% of matches , a season ticket still represented good value , and if fans were not able to pay for a ST in one go the club does offer payment plans.

So , given the info above , why would 'real' fans not already have bought a season ticket. I bought mine over a month ago, as I have done every year , and saved over the year each time to ensure I had enough money to get them.
 
Depends what you call "real supporters". Existing season ticket holders have had plenty of time to purchase. I know what you mean though - the corporate plastic should have been made to join the queue tomorrow.

Do you think they will start selling prawn sarnies in the East Stand?
 
No reason why if they can queue today to buy they could have done the same last week, if they so desperately wanted a ticket they would have got one prior to securing promotion, I would suggest that most 'real' supporters have already renewed and a large proportion of plastics are now getting on the bandwagon, lets loose no sleep.
 
DPJ - I understand what you are saying , it's not been a cheap month , but I still would have thought someone who has been buying ST each year would have planned to buy again this year and got them even before knowing we were actually in the play offs. My priority as always was to buy a ST. For the play-offs and final tickets and travel I had to search the back of the sofas for coins to pay for like a lot of people I am sure.

I've been reliably informed by a member of Stadium management that there will be no expansion or increase in capacity in time for the new season as there is not enough time for fire/h&s regs to be met should capacity be increased-the issue seems to be the toilets being moved/increased in size to accomadate!

From all over Wales is the key with this, and corporate at that i think leigh dineen should retract the statement " the club is run by supporters for supporters" ,there are many who are not in a financial position to commit to a season ticket and go weekly if their finances allow, which i bet is weekly anyway, these people have helped the club to keep attendances aroung the 14/15 thousand mark since the liberty has opened, and now we are on the premiership the pimms and prawn sandwich brigade have moved in what about them,
 
Precisely Mabon, the point is this, the Wembley dust hasn't hardly settled, and while some had the funds to plan ahead, many Jacks did not, but yet they where there every week buying they're ticket and supporting the Swans, so the thank you that you get is this, you will be thrown the crumbs, after the fat cats have had they're tickets to watch MANU, and believe me when I tell you, I was amongst some fat cat Welsh MANU Supporters, who have got in ahead of you honest Jacks, and for what, so that they can see MANU beat Swansea!................

Alswan thanks for that info, It's clear that the demand now that we are in the Prem, has outstripped supply, and the plastic money has won, hands down! Welcome to the Prem lads................

Die hard season ticket fans , the last handful of seasons , should get first kick at the can for season tickets . They should have been notified that they had a certain time to get there tickets , once the season ended & we knew we were going up . Anything less is wrong IMO .
 
DPJ - I agree with the sentiment behind what you are saying , in that it is unfair that "fat cat" plastics get to but ST at the expense of supporters who can only buy tickets on a week by week basis. But I ask you , if you were running this club as a business , would you sell all the ground seating to STH in the knowledge of guaranteed income , or would you say "no" I don't care about generating income , lets keep 3000 tickets back so that we "MAY" sell them on match day. And what is the guarantee that those match day seats wouldn't be bought by plastics anyway !
 
crackerjack- die hard season ticket holders WERE notified that they had a certain time to renew (31st May) and did get "first kick of the can". I do not agree with the argument that "die hard" fans would need to wait until they knew we were in the premier league to decide whether to get ST. In my opinion waiting to find out if we made the premier league before deciding to renew ST is not in any form the definition of a die hard fan.
