I've turned them down (the Navy) twice in the last 6 months- for some reason they want me to stay and cant quite grasp that I resigned because I want to leave and do something else (or nothing). Being married to a nurse, and having abused my body for too long neither of us will live to really old age, so we do tend to spend what we have-you cant take it with you.

Is there some significance to the "being married to a nurse and having abused my body for too long"? Not sure I want to know the answer to that one if honest.

We spent years saving for things until we had 2 houses and enough in the Bank not to worry if the roof fell off. Old habits die hard though and the spend till you drop thing doesn't come easy now. Thing is neither of us think twice about chucking a few quid at the kids still and the grandkids but seldom buy anything for us. Don't get me wrong we do what we want to do but our wants never seem to cost a lot. Simple tastes really.

The results tonight were quite reasonable I thought for us. I'm just going to forget Northampton for now as they have flown and it looks quite decisive to me. A draw between Accrington and Carlisle with a player sent off each looks to be decent on paper. Both had mega games in hand and both would have looked for a win in this one. Oxford lost so remain the same points behind us with the game in hand gone. The other scores don't really matter to us at the moment. It will be interesting to see this weekends results given who is playing who as well. I'm off to your neck of the woods this weekend Plym to get her fix. I might have to wait until Sunday morning to find out. Oooohhhh the tension. Still quite happy this evening.

Right that's me done till Monday evening. Off to bed early now as have to be up at 5am in the bleddy morning. Have to do the same again on Saturday morning as well. I don't handle the early rising bit well these days and am likely to be a bit grumpy unusually. Behave yourselves whilst I'm not here or moderator Plymborn will have to smack some legs.

easy life, drove to Manchester Friday am, drove a Luton van back Fri PM. Spent all day today filling said Luton van with the contents from No1 son's bedroom plus several bits of our and the in laws furniture. Setting off back to Manchester 0430 in the morning and returning late Sunday-wife shopping tomorrow to replace the stuff she has given away. Should make the trip to Yeovil on Tuesday seem very short. Plus side is that he has now properly moved out (and bought his own house) downside is i'm the only one with DIY skills....

You lot are funny, I've cracked at least 2 ribs reading this lot. The very thought of Lyndhurst doing any sort of work past midday or even being remotely used to it and the thought of a self employed gas fitter with a business doing any work at all. All BC does is count bears in the spring and Plym counts birds on his fence. Me meanwhile have been slaving away gathering plunder all weekend and doing channel crossings in at least a force 6. Bleddy murder I tell you it was.

It was ok Joe but there were a fair few white gills about on the ferry. I love it when it goes bang and shudders. The faces of those who don't like the sea are a picture. Makes me smile.

I've just been forced to sit through the Brit awards on my tele. Wot a bunch of *******. I was sitting with my laptop on so not totally focused on it thankfully. I'm now considering opening a bottle. Her in doors is upper 60's but has always liked music but I have never been into it like that. Like a few and some tunes but most of it is crap. She likes dancing as well and I'd rather stick pins in my eyes. Trying to think of what attracted us in the first place having re-read what I just typed. Must have been my good looks.

Just done a BBC survey on the new football homepage.......and told them what utter crap it is..... and how disappointing it is to use.......the match day page has changed for the worse......you have to flick between three pages to follow your team on match days.....instead of the one page that showed everything you needed to know........will they take note.....I doubt it.......what do other people think ?
