Isn't that last sentence a contradiction in terms? Lets put it this way I always put Argyle down for a 2 - 1 win in the prediction league but have to say it is more in hope than total belief.

No worries. Like I said if you want an honest unbiased review on Saturday tune in here. We say it as we see it warts and all. We have become quite warty over time. The Hartlepool v Accrington match should be a hoot. Neither won a game yet so put your house on a draw.

Sorry Rocky one of the old ones has turned up.....<doh>

Keep up plym I already said previously I always put them down for a 2 - 1 win on the prediction board. Whether I believe they WILL win is another matter altogether.

Wouldn't put this on the match thread and spoil it. Thanks for asking if I'm ok now and of course I must be as I'm posting this. On Wednesday last week I woke up with a heart attack going on and ended up being whisked off to Derriford. Was diagnosed officially as having had one that day, was seen by heart team same day and put in for stents to be fitted the next. Got in at 4pm Thursday and back on the ward by 5 .15. with job done. Kept in for that night and as everything went well was allowed home with a list of instructions on Friday. Have to say that this time no complaints about the NHS at all. I'm now on light duties for a while and have a bucket of pills I have to take every day for god knows what. Only bummer is I probably won't be going to Argyle for a while as advised by Surgeon "to avoid excitement where possible". You have to laugh don't you.

I absolutely reckon it was my missus getting her own back because I laughed at her getting bit by the gecko thingy. The grandkids call her the witch and they say kids are good judges of character.

Thanks joe but I've got the family about who have to do something to earn the inheritance. They've been really good in truth if a little shocked. Have to say it came out of the blue and as they say "I wasn't expecting that". Putting a few clues together after the event and I'd say it has been building up for at least 3/4 weeks but at the time the bit of a niggle didn't mean anything on it's own. Red hot poker through the chest on Wednesday and it hurt like ****. The hospital were good and that's after all my moaning about them in that other thread. I found it spooky that you can lie there and watch yourself what they are doing on a monitor whilst doing it and then get a replay after when they explain it to you. Didn't know what to expect after the Op bit but apart from being a bit tired and having to take the bucket of drugs everyday then I do feel quite well. Will try my best to milk it for as long as possible however. If I need a sleep I might just get to a match and that should be sorted.

Thanks Gat and thanks again joe. If I get stuck I'll bear your offer in mind and it's much appreciated. My only consolation is I've temporarily given my season ticket to somebody else and they have to use it or it would be impolite. I'm suing Brent because my ticket didn't come with a health warning and all things bad for you are meant to have one.

Sorry to hear the news sensible...glad it went well......staying away from excitement means ATD as well.

My sons best mate is having a similar op this week he's only 42yrs old.....hasn't had a heart attack....but had some chest pains and got it checked......it does run in his family and his father died at sixty with heart problems. They put the blue tracer dye through his veins today to see where a narrowing of his blood flow might be occuring.

I never had any of that dye stuff plym. They did a few ECGs and blood tests and decided I'd actually had a heart attack and it wasn't a warning. Took me down for a look see with all their gadgets and told me if anything could be done there and then they would carry on and finish the job at the time. Obviously the stents were required so hence the speed of it all. There was a bloke in the bed next to me who was like the one you describe. Non smoker and bike rider along with 20 years younger than me. My Dad had a minor heart attack at 64 but lived till he was 85 so that didn't kill him. These days the treatments are so different from even 10 years ago. Tell your son's best mate that it is so easy and painless it's unbelievable. I literally didn't feel anything at all even though I was awake for it all and he will get to watch it himself live. The only thing I was conscious of was the surgeon's hands moving and nothing else. My Op mark is a small red mark on my wrist where they stuffed it all in the artery. As I don't have to work for a living then the rest bit is easy although I appreciate if you have to earn a crust then it's more difficult. I'm a bit worried about going too far from home at the minute but only because it has just happened and it's all new. Give me a week and I'll be out and about again no doubt.

Remember our recent thread on the NHS and our various experiences of receiving treatment, good and bad results etc.

It looks like you received some very quick and excellent treatment with minimum surgery involved....brilliant.

Maybe you could put a claim in against PAFC for causing you five years of unnecassary pain and stress, you need compensation in hard cash.....don't let them fob you off with a seat in the directors box and a guided tour from Mr Newell......you would be instantly banned from ADT.

My sons mate is self employed....left Dixons 4/5 years back as the signs of the company coming off the rails became evident (voluntary redundancy). Started up his own gardening business with his wife and doing quite well, plenty of work in this part of the world with people working at places like Canary Wharf......plus a bit of decorating in mid-winter.

He recognized what the chest pains meant, especially when it happened in the middle of the night when relaxed....remembering what happened to his father....so they had to do the dye in the blood thing to find a possible narrowing of the arteries and see were it was in his body.....then put a stent in that spot.

I don't at present know how this will effect his working at present......because some work would be quite physical that he would do.........with my son they were regularly doing marathons....full and half and also 10k's....the local one is in two weeks time....that will be a none starter for him.........he and my son had only recently returned from Scarfell...they plus a few others make a long boys weekend of it ...last year Ben Nevis the year before Snowdon.....so an active person.

I employed him a couple of times to do jobs that were too physical for me at my age.

Without sounding to alarmist sensible...has your doctor suggested that your son has a check over......wouldn't do no harm would it.

Your son's mate probably hasn't had an actual heart attack by the sound of it plym so it is a bit different. I was given a load of booklets to read on release and have bothered to as it sort of made sense to know what to expect. With me it's very light duties for several weeks at least and I am not supposed to garden (yes that's mentioned in there) too vigorously. Digging for example is out for quite a while. With pre planned stent implants it is a bit different. No muscle damage as yet. He will have to go on light duties for up to about 6 weeks but being able to increase the exercise gradually as he goes. He will have a few pills to take as well. All people are different but if he's normally fit then he might recover quicker.

Wife has already spoken to son. Like all sons though do they ever listen. Don't worry though I'll work on him and despite everything you know from ATD he does listen to dad sometimes.

Anyway, please excuse me as I'm a bit fed up with talking about it all right now. Everyone means well, friends, neighbours etc but it don't half get boring repeating things. Most of the street I live in saw the ambulance and me being wheeled out in a chair so of course everytime I poke my nose outside the front door now somebody is asking me all about it. I wish somebody would just tell me a joke now. I promise I won't die laughing.......boom boom.

Okay sensible.....how about a bit of Tommy Cooper.

Gambling has brought our family closer together. We had to move to a smaller house.

A hunter came across a lion in the jungle and began to pray. Then the lion started to pray to. He turned to the hunter and said, "Don't get me wrong.....I always say grace before meals."

I hate making decisions,I have an eleven year old daughter I haven't named yet.

    Please don't applaud.....it creates a draught.

My kids sit and watch television in the living room all day....It's got me worried.....our set is in the bedroom.

The only time we see our neighbours is when we try to borrow back our lawnmower.

This fellow went to a nudist colony and said, " I want to join." The guy on the gate said, "you can't join with that blue suit on." He said, "what blue suit ? I'm Cold."

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue,
    Orchids cost three-fifty,
    Won't daisies do ?

I'm so shy, I can't take a bath unless I blindfold my rubber duck !

I was out all morning trying to get something for my wife.....and I couldn't get a single offer !

Don't forget your ovaltine sensible....good night.
