Our board is pretty divided over this one. Realistically, with Foyth and (hopefully) Aurier confirmed today, defensively we look rock solid once again but 99% of Spurs fans agree that we're missing something in the final third. Whether that's proper competition for Kane or a winger with serious afterburners, the likelihood is we won't have the money to bring in more than one player now. Poch said after the Burnley game that he is confident 3 players will arrive before the window closes. 2 of the 3 are in, and it's widely accepted that the 3rd will be an attacking player. I think Barkley has a lot of potential but his style is a bit too similar to Alli and Lamela to really bring something completely different to the table. If we only ('only') have £30m remaining to spend, I'd rather we don't do so on a player who won't even be fit until late November.

I think i mentioned Barkley is too similar. I guess do you want a replacement for Plan A or do you want a different Plan B.

The only thing i would say is Son is probably Plan A/B (depending on 4-3-3 or 3-4-2-1) and you guys have been really miss on getting that pacey wide forward (well more they haven't really been given a big opportunity. Its odd Poch has done brilliant bedding in new talent at the other end but he has a real issue giving proper opprtunities to others, maybe they really just aren't up to scratch).

I think i mentioned you would miss Walker a lot and Trippier is a real unknown as his replacement as he's looked good but not had to play consistently.

I think on such a large pitch you're better of getting someone with more width as i think you guys play way too narrow. Serge Aurier might be the answer to all that though as he's pretty handy going forward and you can bring the 3-4-2-1 back in.

Maybe Wembley is really a proper curse though :P.

One thing i've noticed about pochy (although there are mitigating reasons every year) is you guys never start well, you have a really strong middle and you flag at the end (you smashed it last year though). I don't know if that's related to his pre season training as i think it might have been something similar at Southampton too (just off my memory, no stats)

We've got an awful lot to do with so little time left I feel we'll be left short.

Need 3 maybe 4 players.

Aurier is a heck of a player, if Poch can control him.

to be honest, if this seasons transfers are anything to go by, then emanelo is not doing his job properly... i dont think 1 bad summer should mean the end of him though
I find it tricky to work out just who really does our transfers. Seems Emanelo is the top one, but the Russian lady ( and please excuse my lack of memory) Roman himself and Conte all seem to have a finger in the pie. That may be the problem .A camel is a horse designed by a committee. We seem to be frantic now and names are being thrown up who appear below the standard we need. Trouble is, we can't get the ones we really want any more, and are scrapping with too many other wealthier teams for the cream. Bit of Karma there. Then there's Conte himself, who understandably is looking for results NOW, hence his leaning away from kids towards proven and older players, and the Club who continue to claim they are building for the future, then go and sell or loan it away.

Another bid made for Drinkwater, seems we really want him!

I think we're in for Mahrez too.

but seriously the world knows Cahill is a better striker than Defender.

I would play Cahill week in week out at #9 than as Defender.

If we need a plan B we already have in Cahill. Why go for Llorente FFS

no idea lol. I guess having him is better than nothing. Fairly happy that we've not splurged on a complete average wingback if we ain't getting a top quality one

Drinkwater was 10th choice ffs you shouldn't have bothered
Can't argue with that.
Would rather we had kept Chalobah, if Danny ****ing Drinkwater was the calibre of player we were looking at for that role.

Pretty Sure Danny will be better partner for Kante in deeper mid position than Cescy ever can.

Is Danny upgrade over Matic, no way.
But Matic didn't have his heart in for last 2 seasons. So if Danny is motivated for the challenge, I see (hope) him a massive upgrade over Matic.
