Seems like he's turned the deal down because he doesn't want to play wing back. Feels he's got a better chance of playing midfield at Liverpool. Not too disappointed with this at all, we do need a wing back though but there must be someone abroad who'll be cheaper.
Wasnt happy with the price as said before buy happy he was going wingback. Personally think ox is a terrible cm and even fab is better than him there. Guy takes too many risks and makes too many mistakes to be a cm.
what i really want to know is why are we trying to buy drinkwater for 40m. He's not even that much younger or even better than matic. It's an absolute farce
More than a couple of players we are linked to seem pretty mediocre to me, and the prices just loopy. Wish we"d just buy top quality or use the kids, Boga for instance, some of whom must turn out better than the players we are looking at spending 35 or 40 mill on. Got to say, I don't get it.
yup like i've been banging on about Chalobah all summer. Might as well have kept him who had passion for the club and is super athletic than bringing drinkwater in for 40m. Such a farce
Better that than be rejected by half of Europe and panic buy Fellani! Oh those Moyes days were joyous
But this actually happened and isn't paper gossip to find a buyer for a player by linking them to Man United
Exactly. Your midfield is a lot better than ours except Kante of course. Madness from ox. But glad for you Gonzo LOL
If he comes it'll be as cover for the 2 wingers and Lemar in the AM slot if we get him. He's bench all day with us.
Yeah you're right, Fellani was always your first choice. Hence why you waited until the last minute and then paid more than he'd have cost you 4 weeks earlier.....
You're more than welcome to have him. Word is that Poch is desperate to sign him but Levy has vetoed the move. Praying that is true. Ridiculous sum of money for a player who will be injured until late November, is in the last year of his contract and has blown hot n cold since his breakthrough as 'the new Gazza'.
he's done brilliant to veto him. Think i mentioned on your board that he's so overrated and wouldn't be of any use. I stand by that and hope we don't get him. Its even more stupid because he's injured for 3 months and you could get him for free in the 3 months after that
Our board is pretty divided over this one. Realistically, with Foyth and (hopefully) Aurier confirmed today, defensively we look rock solid once again but 99% of Spurs fans agree that we're missing something in the final third. Whether that's proper competition for Kane or a winger with serious afterburners, the likelihood is we won't have the money to bring in more than one player now. Poch said after the Burnley game that he is confident 3 players will arrive before the window closes. 2 of the 3 are in, and it's widely accepted that the 3rd will be an attacking player. I think Barkley has a lot of potential but his style is a bit too similar to Alli and Lamela to really bring something completely different to the table. If we only ('only') have £30m remaining to spend, I'd rather we don't do so on a player who won't even be fit until late November.
I think the 25 million we reportedly offered for Barkley is generous; if at best he can indeed only play for say 6 months this year for Everton before leaving for nowt. He'll be worth even less in January and he may not kick a ball for them before then.
