We could all benefit from a poster like Spurcat (the real one) posting on here. Plus people like AanP (Squidd) would be a bonus too. We dont need an avalanche just a 1/2 dozen or so of the really good posters that atm are exiled from real debate.
Squid was actually one of the best posters on the old 606. Didn't he quit Ja? I always enjoyed Spurcat's insights into the youth side, too.
It appears Squid has left ja PNP perhaps he will give it try on here. His articles always drew a decent debate. He has learnt to drive recently so he's probably out and about more. Come on Squid if you're looking in, try an article or two to see what response you get.
I find myself agreeing with what everyone's said on here, to be honest. This probably could've gone in the existing Not606 thread, or even the pub thread as it's not really to do with anything Tottenham or even fooball related but then again new threads tend to get a lot more replies than posting in the pub for some reason. The odd Spurs related articles on JA that I feel I want to reply to have often turned into nonsense by the time I've logged on and read them anyway. On the otherhand this site could do with a few more decent posters but we could all do with making a few more articles on here anyway. I also prefer the smilies on JA, even if they are horridly abused
Schteffen one of the advantages of this site is that we can discuss topics other than football. There were a number of good threads on the old 606 that vered into other subjects only for aunty to spit out her scone and send us all packing. It hasn't happened much yet on not606 but the possibility is there. Chirpy and I had a good old ding dong a while back, we were able to express our thoughts without the intervention of the thought police. Not that it did either of us any good.
Oi, I made one this morning What a fine article it was too Spurf, the Thatcher debate?I chose to stay out of that one, it was exhausting enough just reading it
We do seem short on articles. Since joining, I've made a few up. There tends not to be the same tendency towards ridicule on this board as on others I have experienced. Even on the Gooners' board, where there are some priceless articles posted and where there is a tendency for the AFC fans to tear one another apart over the merest of disagreements, members tend to be fairly tolerant. I don't believe in talking merely for the sake of it, but a debating board without anything to debate is somewhat sterile, I'm sure we will all agree
If I agree that you've got a point, that ends the debate right there. Unless, of course, you tell me it doesn't...
I disagree, we don't need a debate about whether to have a debate we need to debate why we don't need to.
I've got to say, though, that there are more than enough idiots and ****wits on this site, including some of the mods (Our own wonderfully level-headed mods excluded, of course).
I assume that you're referring to your adventures on the Arsenal board, HIAG? Should've just ignored Jayram, as he's obviously totally delusional.
He's the biggest ****wit of them all. I've now put him on my ignore list. It's not so much the odd idiot on the Gunner board (and it is only the odd one, because most of them over there are, actually, okay), it's the breath-taking fact that their mods not only permit the personal abuse but actively encourage it! In that, there is absolutely no difference between this site and JA606.
