That cant be the Yanks 1st 4... If so the relay is up for grabs for a couple of teams now... Cyc - Im afraid your boys need to start training with Black Caviar and stop chasing them dingos...
Jeez cyc one team DNF and another have been D'Qd and your still short of qualifying... Back to the drawing board im afraid...
Sorry folks, but rhythmic gymnastics has a little too much "show business" about it for me. It seems a bit of a stretch to call it a sport. I'm happy to be shot down though.
Not so much talking about this thread - and I agree with what you say about it. More making a comment on the British media and some in the UK who seem to take more delight in the failure of others rather than just enjoy success for the competitors representing the team of the United Kingdom of great Britain and northern Ireland. God knows we've tasted the bad times in olympics before and I dare say it will happen again. One thing that surprised me though - and it's not a dig at Cyclonic- is that we've currently won the same number of golds as Australia won in Sydney. I honestly thought they'd won sackfulls.
The 2000 Sydney games gave us 16 gold and a medal total of 58 Dan, which was enough for us to finish 4th on the ladder behind the USA, Russia and China. That for us was a huge return. We usually get fairly close to that gold count, but I can't recall a time when we've finished higher on the ladder. In those games GB finished 10th. I think this is where GB has been so impressive this time. GB won 11 golds then and as it stands now, a wonderful 22. I think what needs to be remembered here, is that GB are having a dream games. A phenomenal effort.
I might not like rhythmic gymnastics all that much, but at the risk of being sexist, they are lovely looking ladies.
I wish they could find a new equestrian commentator, or teach this one to be able to string a few words together without dropping in the spare "a" and even more annoyingly "the a". Does my head in.
Christ, I want to watch but he is stressing me out. Why, for **** sake, can he not just string a few sentences together. Oh good a knowledgeable woman commentating to the free-style dressage whilst competitors performing. Oh bliss.
Bollocks, he's back. "They have put down a challenge for the a .... " "We have now got to the a ,...." and "The a...." all in the space of a few seconds. **** off.
