Pleased for Skelton. Broke his neck in a fall and was told he'd never ride again. Has several joints replaced and walks in pain...great after 7 Olympics.
I saw this before....serious concerns about the Paralympics. Let's hope it's exaggerated and everyone involved has a great, competitive time.
Not surprised seeing how poorly ticket sales are for Rio 2016. There must be a massive shortfall in that alone. Don't want to keep harping on about London, but the Paralympics was fantastic there. They are talking of rearranging things, so, as I said, let's hope with good organisation and cooperation it will turn out ok.
Nick Skelton looked relieved to get through the National Anthem without crying, but his lower lip was trembling.
I wonder why... Basic tickets for non popular events: £68 Tickets for popular events: £238 Average wage per month in Brazil: £250
Just looked at the results and times of the 400m hurdles for the ladies. To run 54.61 and come last is still a world class performance and probably close to a PB. As for the winner, Dalihah Mohammad, the USA may have found their star performer for the next ten years.
