Not once did I see any bananas thrown at Barnes at Anfield from anyone but the away section (half a ****ing fruit stall when Newcastle played in the cup there in 1988). I didn't say it was at Anfield.

It was at his first game, away at Arsenal and is clearly documented. Nick Hornby has a piece on it in Fever Pitch

So maybe FIFA are ready to bow to the pitchforked mob?

You're second point is right though, as there's no precedent for FIFA to issue a Worldwide ban for an on field incident of this nature. It's simply not going to happen. He'll get an International ban of anywhere between 6 games and a year imo.

**** off UIR, so your morals tell you its ok to get your brothers wife pregnant or to meet whores and pay them for sex behind your wife's back but biting and calling someone "negrito" is far worse.<doh>

The bite and name calling will be forgotten in time but the other things mentioned will last a life time for the families involved.

It was his brothers wife, an unborn child was aborted to try and save him from the shame and humiliation, he tried to censor people discussing it.
