Tobes...

Didn't Luis make his intentions clear last summer too?

Not the same scenario, as he was spouting off in they press about wanting to leave but there was no offer on the table.

When it arrived you refused to even speak to Arsenal.

This time you've entered negotiations with Barca and he's patently told you he wants the move.

Obviously different scenario but let's not not change the point :)

Oh bugger. I was just thinking of a joke about stripey footballers and you edited it.

A pay rise of that magnitude would cheer me up no end, but I honestly think Suarez loves playing and can only play one way.
You're right in that last season we had no intention of parting with him whereas this time we want to.
I still don't think we're so desperate that we'll offload him on the cheap just to get rid.
Barca are tricky bastards though.

Bleeding iPad predictive text.

He won't be going on the cheap, but there'll be a level of compromise over the terms. The advantage Barca have got is that his ban means there's no rush to get him in before pre-season, they can eek it out until 11.55 on August 31st if they wish. I doubt that'd suit you though so you might be more liable to bend a tad.

True but then they may have witnessed what happened last summer too. John Henry won't be pissed about. If they wait until the last minute then don't be surprised if we see a repeat of last summer

Can't see it myself mate. You've decided to sell now and are well down the track in the process of spending the windfall.

I think he will go now but we wont just let him go for the sake of it, that's the point

Apart from the fact they are starting to sell Suarez shirts. That is an idiot thing to do before it's officially announced and has actually put us in a stronger position. It's not so much the money but more the pressure from fans. Can you imagine the transfer drawing out and going longer and longer into the season and all these fans have Suarez no.9 shirts but don't have the player!? The club will look very stupid if they don't get it wrapped up in time for the new season.

It's not Barca themselves selling them mate. It's an unofficial sports shop

TBF Henry responded personally

We are too! (not Barca shirts... Suarez ones)... I feel sorry for anyone buying a Suarez shirt this summer expecting him to stay.

Bit stupid if you buy one now though <laugh>

Absolutely. I could go to JJB and get the new Liverpool shirt with "Barkley 10" on the back of it, and it mightn't still fit me in two years time when he actually comes to Anfield.

You'll see him at Anfield in September mate, hopefully sliding on his knees in front of the hill of piss ;)

Seriously, I know it'll never happen but I'd love to put every penny we get from Suarez into getting him into a Liverpool shirt. Him and Sterling in the same team, with Studge and Coutinho. Utter ****fest.

Never mind....
