I find it interesting to see the different comments on Suarez leaving.
Some saying the sky is falling down and the dawn of the apocalypse is near then others reciting our history of strikers as proof that we'll replace Suarez with someone else just as good but different.
Like MITO said, we're not going to miss the goals and assists that Suarez gave us, those can be replaced with other signings as has been shown in the PL for years amongst other clubs, but what we can't readily replace is his influence. Those moments of pure magic, genius and inspiration which completely change a game. I don't worry, for this season, about us scoring enough goals without Suarez, I worry about who our game changer will be. It's easy to say we'll just share the responsibility out but Spuds have shown that it doesn't always work that way. In my opinion, every top team needs that top drawer game changer; Messi, Neymar, Bale, Suarez, Ronaldo, Ozil, Robben, Iniesta, Hazard, Reus or Ibrahimovic. Most of the top teams have one (or more). I'm not saying we need to buy one of that calibre now, but we need to buy someone who has the potential to get there in the next few years. Lallana? Nope. Lambert? Nope. Can? Nope.
It's not relying on one player - we won without Suarez after all - It's having that one player available who makes a difference when your other 'shared task' players just don't step up. For me, I see the likes of Rodriguez, Sanchez, Griezmann, Markovic, Shaqiri, Yarmolenko and Konoplyanka as players who are available and have that moment within them to change a game. They're also young enough to get better and hopefully reach the level as those players above.
