Need some opinions, regarding dating ages.

So as a general rule, I've adapted mine to half your age +7. I've recently turned 21 (this month), met a tidy looking 17 year old girl, who's 18 in October. Now that does fit in with my "rule" (JUST), but still feels like she's a kid! She's a hairdresser and not so bright (how cliché), so it makes her seem even younger. Should I just roll with it or find a mature, older lady? Ta.

Go for it. That half then + 7 soon stops working when you get to 20 onwards. I'm 25 which would make mine 19.5 but 18 onwards is my benchmark and will continue to be the benchmark until I'm no longer single even if I'm 30!

Mohammed's rule works better as you get older. When you're younger it is really very variant- some girls that fit the rule just seem too young- and others outside the range don't. Moreover go with who seems nice and forget age.

I dated a hairdresser when I was in university. Like yours, mine was a complete air-head. She once told me she wanted to go to Holland to see the mountains (no joke). She was an absolute nympho though... really, the only one I've ever dated... obsessed with pleasuring... but in the end, she was a complete air-head and not the kind you could bring home to the parents. Very sweet girl. Reminded me of a golden retriever, personality, and intelligence wise... not that I've ever had sex with a retriever. Had to end it in the end though because it was just about physical side.

Just do what feels right. If she seems too young, she probably is. If she doesn't, she probably isn't. Just as long as you stay within the law and don't go underage.

She was extremely sweet.
As I said- she reminded me of a golden retriever. Sweet, loyal, eager to please. I love golden retrievers... I just don't want to date one.

What happened due to our schedules is- she would come to my place after work latish 11:00 ish or so by the time she got off work and came over -(she was in a mall hairplace- they didn't close until 10- then she had to clean up)... I liked her a lot- I still think back on her as one of the sweetest and nicest girls I dated- and I could see myself being friends with her if we hadn't lost contact. It's just, as unlikely as this sounds, our relationship became all about the bedroom, and even though that sounds good, after a few months it gets old. Our schedules meant that almost of the time we spent together was in bed.

I liked her, enjoyed being with her for a while, and remember her fondly. She just wasn't long-term material. She was fun to date for a while.



If you're just having fun, as you should be at your age if you're smart , then as long as being with her doesn't make you (or her) uncomfortable, go for it. As long as you're not leading her or yourself on to believe it is something more than it is- I don't think any harm is done.
