Yeah that’s him. He’s definitely better than McCarthy but he isn’t a top tier QB. They also have barely made any changes to the roster beyond cutting the interior of the D line so are just running it back. The thinking is obviously try and be the seventh seed and hope to fluke the playoffs.
I see Wentz has re-signed with the Vikings. I do wonder if that at least opens the door on listening on trade offers for McCarthy.
More likely Brosmer is cut/moved to the practice squad and they go with Murray/McCarthy/Wentz in that order

That is the ideal scenario, if they can somehow trade down and get a first rounder next year that would be perfect.
Problem is this draft is short on top end rated players, all of which are very likely to be gone by the time the Vikings pick, so teams won’t want to sacrifice next year (which is meant to be a strong class) to move up for players who are graded similarly.
Their best bet I think is if the Jets want to try and take Ty Simpson and give him a year before next years strong QB class. They have 3 first rounders next year so might be willing to give up one of them to move up to 18 to get Simpson. Something like the Jets give the Vikings next year first, a 3rd and a 4th this year for 18. I’d take just next years first and a 4th this year though I think.
Very unlikely to happen though as the Jets have a good chance of getting Simpson with their second round pick, only the Cardinals realistically could move ahead of them to take him. They will want the 5th year option on his contract though so will probably want to move into the first round to take him if that is their plan, but doesn’t have to be as high (and expensive) as moving up to 18
In typical Vikings style they've wasted their first round pick on someone they could have drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round.
Maybe I was a little hasty here. I was reading all the views and grades the experts gave which were mainly C's and D's. But sounds like his problems are more injury related than anything else. Best DT in the class by talent so high upside potential but also high risk.
Doubt Banks would’ve been there for their second round pick, but does feel like a bit of a reach based on “expert” opinion.
Would’ve much preferred Thinneman and annoying that he fell to the Bears, but ultimately the Vikings have basically no young talent on the team so I was never going to be overly disappointed by whoever they took.
Main disappointment is now they went IDL it means they probably won’t draft Domonique Orange who I want purely because his nickname is Big Citrus

Having now sobered up and thought about it I hate the pick. As I said the Vikings need young talent at every position so to take a guy who has big red flags medically is an incredibly stupid gamble to take. I don’t have any issues with Banks as a player from a talent perspective, but he has broken his foot twice already and is a massive bloke, can only see that getting worse over time. With so many holes you take a much safer pick in my view rather than a gamble

It’s been an ok draft for the eagles, but happy to take Greenard. Think our D will be great again next season
Good deal all round there. Vikings clear more cap space and with Turner making progress Greenard was always expendable. He'll do well for you though.
Happy with Golday and Orange. The Greenard trade was a huge fumble as usual for the Vikings. I don’t know anything about the two players picked in the third round but I can’t believe they haven’t picked a centre
