He’s going to play every game unless he gets injured as the Vikings aren’t going to be out of playoff contention for a while.

Sorry when I meant next year I meant next seasons draft.

I’ll wait and see how he does but essentially this just keeps the Vikings in with a shout for second place in the NFC North, which means they will likely have to go to Detroit if they make a deep playoff run which I can’t see them winning, so overall seems like sacrificing a bit more of the future for now.

If you think the 2024 Vikings are in a position to win the Super Bowl then you will obviously like this move. If you think McCarthy is the future from 2025 and that is when realistically they should be building a team to win the Super Bowl then swapping a 4th round pick for a 7th in the first draft with McCarthy starting seems stupid
Well my take is that once you reach the play offs anything can happen. A bit of luck, an injury, a Minneapolis Miracle (no I don't see that happening twice!) can completely turn a one off game on its head. But I'm pleased to see the FO being aggressive in the wake of a 5-2 start. But now they need to go all in and get a CB. The good teams are simply targeting Murphy and getting quite a lot of success as well. If they are indeed serious about a play off run this season then we need to upgrade Murphy.

Well it’s not just Murphy, Gilmore and Griffin have started to show their age and how physically demanding a 17 game season is. The interior pass rush is basically non existent and the edge rush has been as well the last couple of games (admittedly good prior to that)

This team isn’t just a player away from being a proper contender. They have a favourable run over the next 5 games, they need to win 4 of them I’d say to really cement themselves in the playoff hunt and also considering who they play afterwards

I do agree however that if they can get a corner who isn’t just a one season guy like Robinson is then they should look. I don’t know much about this upcoming draft yet but with McCarthy on a rookie deal you could pay someone coming off their rookie deal like Horn if you wanted to give up this years first

Very ugly first half for the Vikings offence. Nothing going right at all. Moving the ball fine but the interception in the end zone (poor pass from Darnold, clearly not on), the fumble recovery for a TD (possible foul on Darnold?) and 2 missed FG's. Defence have stepped up, they haven't allowed a score but KOC needs to have strong words at HT.

Sure am glad the Colts gave up on Richardson for Flacco to go out there and lead the offense to a grand total of 0 points in primetime. Embarrassing franchise, multiple firings needed

Season low for yardage. Zero offensive points. Great work, guys. Really great work. HC and GM turned up the heat on themselves midweek and a performance like that only turns it higher

Vikings were never a good match up for you. Our run defence is the best in the league. Stopping Taylor was probably 2/3 of the battle if not more. And we did. No big runs from him at all.

Richardson didn't help himself by tapping out in the last game. Colts should not give up on him but I think they had to bench him.

It does help when you put in an old pocket passer so it’s easier to pack against Taylor knowing Flacco is no threat with his legs. Another thing they’ve lost by throwing in the towel on Richardson

Yeah. It was stupid and he was also way too honest in the aftermath. But they are cutting their nose to spite their face here. If they truly cared about winning now, they wouldn’t have:

- started a rookie QB (for all intents and purposes) in week one
- done absolutely nothing of note in FA
- failed to shore up the safety positions with depth and/or quality
- allowed Gus Bradley to remain as the DC for a second longer

Just peddling a load of nonsense now. If Richardson had been banished to the bench and disciplined for a game or two in return for tapping out, I think people would’ve accepted it. But spare feeding people bullshit about having the ambition to win now
