Probably meant 1990, we were the better team in that semi and would have thrashed the Argies in the final. What might have been!

I agree, just making the point that we could easily have won that game. If Gazza had a little more speed and anticipation, we could have been World and European Champions in the last 25 years.

If the linesman gave Spain the perfectly legitimate goal in the quarter final, Gareth Southgate wouldn't have missed a penalty in the semi due to England not being in it.

IMO an average team in a poor tournament which apart from Cameroon was pretty dire. In fact West Germany were so average they had to knock down the Berlin wall to obtain some fresh players. <laugh>

Ok, that's the Euro title gone - however nothing to suggest that we wouldn't reacted to going behind? - but we are mainly discussing World cups.
