It was an excellent result for Spurs without question because Real certainly would have preferred to top the group ... that said, they obviously aren't at the top of their game right now having lost at the Catalonian 'minnows' at the weekend and trailing Barca by a points difference that, even at this relatively early stage of the season, suggests the Spanish title race may already be decided ...

Man City's performance continues an incredible season for them ... unbeaten in all competitions and winning away convincingly at the in-form Italian league leaders... who were virtually at full strength ... Pep seems to have got it spot on and their bench last night was frightening...

Here's a link to a great article about Spurs now emerging as a European powerhouse:-

Here's an interesting quote from the article in which Poch recognises and addresses a key concern among both fans and neutrals alike:-

"Pochettino's lack of a trophy since he arrived at Spurs from Southampton in 2014 has been something of a narrative running alongside his outstanding work. It is a situation he and Spurs need to remedy soon. The best sides win trophies and up to now this has been an omission on Pochettino's increasingly impressive C.V. Pochettino admitted in the afterglow of Wednesday's win that Spurs now need to move to the next stage of their development, which is to add silverware to the obvious talent and growing consistency they now possess."

Spanish giants Real are also interested in Tottenham's 21-year-old England midfielder Dele Alli. (Marca)

its true. its from bbc pissflaps.

It's to be expected.

We've got a squad that is chock full of supremely gifted young talent, assembled by a managerial guru in the modern game, overseen by arguably the greatest financial wizard the game has ever seen and is ever likely to see.

I'd be disappointed if the likes of Real were not interested in Spurs and our many gems.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez was scouting Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen, 25, when Spurs played Real Madrid in the Champions League but was instead seemingly left impressed by his 21-year-old midfield team-mate Harry Winks. (Evening Standard)

Good. I'm glad he liked what he saw.

Now, **** off back to Spain and tell Messi that he'd better start praying he doesn't have to play us in the CL.

Thanks.
