Pretty desperate stuff having to quote a Marca journalist (and having to leave out the words which would make the quote apply to Arsenal players too.....)
"In Spain, we don't consider him in the top 10 world-class players because he has only been playing a couple of years and is only playing at Tottenham, who are not in the Champions League semi-finals or final," Juan Castro, a football journalist at Madrid-based sports newspaper Marca, said.

Kane will just have to settle for 11th (for now) .

**** me!

Pixie took a right old pasting off you lads!
<laugh>

You'd think that, by now, he'd learn to refrain from this type of wummery, as it always come back to bite him viciously on the arse!

I was waiting for you to jump two footed into that **** up.

If you read the quote in full it mentions teams that have been in the CL semi final and final. I.e Arsenal, not Tottenham. Was going to point it out to the other Spuds earlier but I thought I'd wait for you to jump into my net <rofl>

I don't believe La Marca journo has a CL memory span
that goes back 8 years (the implication alarm bells
should be ringing loud and clear for you) ...

I'm pretty sure he does. I can see why you would want a selective memory though <ok>

The quote is in the present tense. I don't expect Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest would count either.

Real weren’t unbeaten in the CL for 5 years before this evening’s game.

Where do you get your football “info” from?

In the last five CL group stages before this one Real have only faced genuinely tough 'form' teams three times. Dortmund twice and PSG once.

Of those six games they've won 1, drawn 4, lost 1.

Add Spurs into the stat as a genuinely tough team and its won 1, drawn 5, lost 2.

Real are pretty gash in the group stages when tested it appears, but good at winning when it matters in the KOs.

Still a great win for Spurs though and gives the prem pride. City and Spurs give us hope to show la liga and bundesliga we're back.

It’s alarmimg but not altogether a surprise that Spud fans know diddly squat about football as for them it was only invented three years ago.

They can’t be that bad or they simply wouldn’t qualify every year.

OK 'gash' may be slightly exaggerated. But I did only say it about them when they were playing teams that tested them in the group stages. One win from eight games doesn't suggest they are that great in the groups against the better teams.

Real like all great clubs do the business more often than not when it matters hence their haul of European trophies. If City keep their form they could go all the way, that was a fantastic performance last night at Napoli.
