Hiddink and some of the Chelsea players wound the Spurs team up to **** in the papers and in the build up to the game, it might have been out of character for Dembele to try and scoop a fellow player's eye out of natural home in his skull like it was an oyster but Spurs have never fought for the title since Admiral Nelson had two eyes so have never had to be wound up by the opposition the way they were at the bridge.
Should they be in a similar position in the coming seasons they will be a lot wiser.![]()

Yep, tired of reading your crap.,...![]()
Why? Can't you say that one was bad and the other is bad, too?... so just to be clear before you start counting tapas ... you either don't think eye-gouging is that bad in general? ... or, it's OK / acceptable when 'provoked' ????
In short, Chelsea started it.

Nah, we had Real in a pre-season game.Looks like Dembele has gone over for the Real v City game.

Yet you seem fine with endless elbows, hair pulling and throat grabbing, for some reason.??? I'm just baffled that NSIS seems to be wanting to excuse eye gouging (in any circumstances) ... in Rugby it's an 8 - 10 match ban ... and rightly so for me.
Yet you seem fine with endless elbows, hair pulling and throat grabbing, for some reason.
I think that they're all worth bans, as long as it's done consistently.
It's definitely not at the moment.
Let's take Vardy's additional game for acting like a cock.
Ozil was just as bad on the weekend, if not worse, yet he escapes completely.
If it's worth a match ban, then how is it not worth a yellow card?
... nice to see you don't wear blinkers! ... I've said on a thread on your board that I would be completely supportive of any initiative by the FA to outlaw holding full stop etc ..When did I say anything about Spurs being the only team to play beautiful, pure football?... nice to see you don't wear blinkers! ... I've said on a thread on your board that I would be completely supportive of any initiative by the FA to outlaw holding full stop etc ..
... but there is a photo above of Vertonghan holding Costa and if you watch the footage of Cahill's goal against you, Vertonghen has a double handful of John Terry ...
... the idea that Spurs defenders are any less prone than other team's to this particular cancer that has crept into the game, and that Spurs only play beautiful pure football is, frankly, delusional clap trap ...
... we had Drinkwater sent off for two bookings at the weekend ... Wayne Rooney committed 3 far worse fouls and got a yellow ...
... when Wes Morgan scores the equaliser Robert Huth's shirt is nearly removed by Chris Smalling ... not completely, like happened to him at Crystal Palace ...
.... yes we undoubtely do it too ... I'll happily admit.... and it needs addressing.
Now eye-gouging ...nope ... no excuses that I'll ever accept ... nor should you or other Spurs fans ... Dembele has let himself down. his club down and his profession down ... and the punishment should reflect that. End of.
Where did you get the 6 match ban from?Looking like Dembele is in line for at least a 6 game ban if found guilty.
"Tottenham and Chelsea have been charged with failing to control their players during Monday's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
The FA say this comes as a result of "incidents which occurred in the 45th and 87th minutes and also at the end of the game".
The standard fine for such a rules breach is £20,000.
Also, Spurs' Mousa Dembélé has been charged for "an alleged act of violent conduct" on Diego Costa (an alleged eye gouge) which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
On this, the FA statement reads: "It is alleged the player’s behaviour constituted violent conduct in circumstances where the standard punishment of three matches that would otherwise apply is clearly insufficient."
The clubs have until 6pm on Monday 9 May to respond to their charges. Dembele has until 6pm on Thursday 5 May."
When did I say anything about Spurs being the only team to play beautiful, pure football?
As usual, you're just making **** up.
How did you get any of that comment from what I wrote?
Where did you get the 6 match ban from?
The idea that Dembele's is worth more than a standard ban but the Torres gouge on Vertonghen wasn't worth anything is the inconsistency that I'm talking about.
This ****'s not being applied equally.
Nobody's said any of the stuff that you've alleged about Spurs supporters. It's utter nonsense.,,, where did I say that YOU had said that ... as usual you seem over sensitive and taking it very personally ... and it's you that infers that I'm an advocate of elbows, hair pulling and throat grabbing ... when did I do that?
Which is ludicrous. They didn't have to change the rules to charge Torres, as the ref didn't even claim to have seen it.Torres was a scratch, and the rules were changed after he got away with it, as for the 6 games apparently they're classing the eye gouge in a similar way to Suarez's bite.
... so just to be clear before you start counting tapas ... you either don't think eye-gouging is that bad in general? ... or, it's OK / acceptable when 'provoked' ????
