Indeed all the top 6 clubs will spend heavily but not Spurs, they are just happy to keep what they have recipe for future Thursday night football.
All we need now is for you to you get your certified PL "pundit" licence, and that is another minimum Spurs PL top 3 finish guaranteed.
Nothing ever does, Libby. That doesn't alter the fact that pundits have predicted the likes of United and 'Pool rising above Spurs. Why? We have the better squad. We have the better manager. Not that I am bothered... I love being the underdog, and sneaking through to kick these arrogant ****ers in the nuts!
I agree that going under the radar is the best way when you're one of the smaller clubs. I didn't think you'd get top 4 this season tbh, but if anything you've improved and I've been bloody impressed. Just making the point that just because pundits were wrong the last 2 seasons it doesn't mean that you'll finish top 4 again next year. I wouldn't underestimate the Wembley effect next year, both poorer atmosphere and every team raising their game will play a part imo.
For now. Compared to the trophy laden careers of Conte, Mourinho and Pep? Poch, who was won the sum total of **** all?
Hats off to Conte been really impressed. The other 2 not so much. Mourinho has been found out and is a coward the way he sets his teams up. Pep doesn't understand defence. I am not sure he will succeed in the Prem. You can't compare them to Pochettino because they have very different budgets. In his way Poch has been very successful both with Saints and us.
I think Pep will struggle too for what it's worth. Just think he'll be too stubborn to admit that bottom half PL teams aren't complete ****e and teams will figure him out. Poch is a good manager, but can't be compared to the best until he's won something. Taking cup competetitions seriously would be a good start.
I agree btw, about Pep, I am also not sure he has the pre requisites to succeed in the PL. He does not have enough respect for the art of defending.
Pooch cannot be considered one of the best managers until he's actually won something. People heaped praise on Moyes, Martinez and Owen Coyle when their teams were doing well, but they won nothing. Pooch is nowhere near the likes of Wenger, Pep, Maureen and Conte. If he can win trophies over the next 5 years with the Spuds, then maybe. But his achievements currently amount to **** all.
Nevertheless, as SD has said, it would be interesting to see what he would achieve with the budgets that Conte, Pep, and Maureen have, and have had at their disposal. He's done very well so far on a pretty limited budget. You can only think he'd go a few steps further with a much larger one.
Possibly, but it doesnt always follow that managers making the step up to big clubs with big budgets improve accordingly. Look at Moyes, did wonders with Everton on a budget, then bombed when he had a big budget and the pressure of expectation.
I would say that it looks likely to be honest. However, at the moment it is all conjecture. I would agree that the current Spurs side looks tidier than anything Moyes ever put together at Everton. But until, or unless, Poch actually wins something....it all amounts to bupkis.
If Poch wins the title or a European trophy with Spurs, he will automatically become the best ever Manager in the Prem, imho. I think he's proven himself to be the best, now, anyway. What he's done for Spurs - not just how we are performing consistently in the league - is nothing short of remarkable. The worst manager in the league, certainly at the moment and probably for some while, has got to be Wenger. There is absolutely no excuse for how he has performed, not with his wage budget and his club's finances. The man is a disgrace. He doesn't deserve a good send-off, he should be kicked out of AFC in disgrace. Discuss.
