Except I wasnt talking about clubs making mistakes, which is why I said you missed the point. To say that Levy somehow "won" by selling your best players shows how little ambition someone like HIAG has for the club. And even if you look to the money made from those sales as some sort of success story (as HIAG claims) in the end it was pi55ed away in subsequent transfer windows. So whether you're talking about selling Soldado or selling Bale there's been nothing won and nothing gained. As I said, just different degrees of losing.

Except for Levy who's probably lined his pocket very well.

To my knowledge, Levy had never sold a top player who hadn't demanded to go. In the cases of Berbatov, Modric, and to some extent, Bale, they basically went on strike and demanded the transfer. In those circumstances, there's very little any chairman can do except extract the maximum from the buying club.
As I have said, I don't absolve Levy from the mistakes made, far from it. But, in those cases, he did all he could. The subsequent poor recruitment goes back to his poor choices of management.

Not sure they went on strike but they wanted the move. And a bit harsh on Bale and Carrick to say so. But the point remains, until you can convince players to stay you cant say Levy's really won anything. He doesnt exactly create a great environment (for any sustained period) for players to believe Spurs are looking to compete long term. The constant change of management is a cause of that lack of belief in the club from those players, as much as it is a cause of poor subsequent recruitment that you mentioned.

You'll probably hate me saying this but at least with Wenger, the fact he's been there so long, he's managing to attract some good players and keep them and as a result is finally winning stuff.

I never mentioned Carrick. But, Modric & Berbatov most definitely refused to play or even train.
I have agreed about the constant management changes, and in my view Levy is culpable for that. His choices and changes have been pretty much 100% disastrously wrong. The only two managers we've had recently who were any good - Jol & Redknapp - were only appointed after Levy had had to fire his latest **** up.

Yes, Wenger has some good players, but he's not exactly immune either. I'll just mention Fabregas, RVP, Nasri, Clichy, etc. it even happens to Utd. Ronaldo wanted to go to Real and in the end all you could do was get as much for him as possible.
 
Arsenal have kept some of their better players because of their enormous wage bill.
It's that simple.
That and the fact that Bayern, Real and Barca haven't deemed any of them good enough.

However, you're obviously not going to scoff too much until after you've got tomorrow out of the way. The last thing you will want is to make the kind of monumental ****-up that you made last week, when you slated Chelsea for drawing against, only for your lot to go and get tonked by the Spanners!

I didn't slate Chelsea at all, I just pointed out what a twat Maureen was for trying to blame the result on the team doctor. You must remember . It was on the same thread where you made your monumental **** up by claiming I started it because Chelsea lost ? And then proceeded to edit your comments, then claimed I'd edited them, then claimed they hadn't been edited at all ? <laugh>
