Probably so and if we don't turn around our home form, bums on seats will be an ever increasing issue.

Have you got some inside knowledge on Oli OLM?

Any news of potential loans? And are we going to give Gulasci another chance?

I have no info on Oli, I expect him to be gone shortly, but it's only my opinion based on the indications NP has given previously.

I've no info on potential targets either, unfortunately.

I have never understood the need for a so called ball winner. That person can only be in one place at any one time and if the ball is not there what happens? Others have to win the ball too it is not just down to one man. You can win the ball without touching it if you pressure your opponent into giving it away. All your midfield players need to be capable of winning the ball and pressurising their opponents. The same is true about a creative midfield player you cannot rely on one man to create everything. A good team has players who can do both when the situation requires it. Cairney is a good passer but if the ball is there to be won he has to win it, the same applies to Koren. It is true that some are better tacklers than others and others can pass better but you are a poor player if you cannot do both to a reasonable standard.

Appreciate the reference youve given there Horsham_Tiger and I guess you were merely advocating the principal of the attacking/creative/ball winner theory. But for one they're in the top league and secondly f u c k Man Utd. Excuse me...

It was always going to be an impossible job for McKenna to replace Ash in the eyes of the fans. McKenna doesn't have the same aura about him but he is efficient and a better distributor of the ball than Ash. The missing ingredient is "leadership", Ash had it in spades, Ant Gerrard had it, we still don't have a natural captain.

They have Rooney, Hernandez and Wellbeck on the end of them we have Fryatt, Waghorn and Mclean. They also have Vidic/Evans/Ferdinand/Evra/Smalling/Jones behind them to mop it up, i rate our defence but not that highly.

I agree in principle that a midfielder should be an all round person and its more about pressure than anything else but Koren, Brady and Stewart rarely even do that and if you put defensive duties on our two wingers it takes away from what they do going forwards.

They all chase the ball down at Man U, I would say the breaker player would be Carrick but they don't need him these days, Cleverley has Carricks place but he's a different kind of player, more of a Beckham type

Carrick's not good enough for Man United, I'm surprised he's still there, though I don't really think Anderson is up to their normal standard either. I think Cleverley is a brilliant all round player, though I don't think he's much like Beckham, I'd say he's more of Scholes.

Chatting to 2 P'boro fans after the game on Sat, they both independantly told me that McKenna was our MOTM match for them. In their words 'every time we got to the edge of the box McKenna was there to intercept the pass or take it off the player and then found one of his own team to relieve the pressure'.

On the Utd thing, surely Anderson and Cleverly are both there to break up play. Everyone was very surprised when Anderson got far enough forward to score the other week.

As I said earlier in the thread, the midfield need time to gel and hopefully McKenna will develop Evans & Cairney

I guess he'll do for free, but when we've had Ashbee, and were expecting Danns, it's all a bit disappointing.

Don't think I ever expected Danns, once Leicester were interested then we couldn't compete
