Pretty sure I contracted this at my grandson's Year 6 School assembly last week. Outside it was nudging 90 degrees and inside the small hall was jam packed with no Aircon and quite a few people coughing. The last 15 minutes were really uncomfortable, I wonder how many others have gone down with this just from that one event...

Got an invitation for an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening ultrasound a few weeks ago. Surprised me as I had never heard of this, but they are offered to men (only, we are at hugely higher risk) in their 65th year around here, and have been for the last 13 years- apparently not consistent around the country.

Just had the scan and not even a hint of an aneurysm, yippee. No more scans as a result. If your aorta is over 3 cm you get annual checks, over 4 every 3 months, over 5 you are in for surgery. Big surgery, but it’s a life saver.

If invited I’d suggest going, takes 10 minutes and they give you the results immediately. It seems a lot of blokes don’t bother. At least it’s cheap for the NHS when they drop dead on the spot….

Same here in South Wales - I was invited 2 years ago just after my 65th, and similarly a lot of guys don’t bother turning up for their appointments.

I was ‘clear’ so no further scans or appointments for me.

I had one of them a few years back and was all clear.

A good friend was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer after a random blood test. Caught early and treatable, although he's opted to have it removed, which has certain repercussions. Screening really can be a life saver.

Had another ultrasound test done for prostate. Had to go in with a full bladder. The nurse keep pressing / rubbing the hand held device against my bladder, making me need a piss really bad.

Nurse said l can only pee for 10 seconds and to come back for more screening. Out l went & back on the bed for more screening ….. had to go again….. couldn’t hold any longer….nurse said, hold for on & on & on …. I’m shaking & jigging holding on. Doctor came in, still more screening…. FFS….. back out for another pee.

Wow, that was tough. End result, slightly enlarge but ok for a 64 year old.

Next test, cyst on kidneys ……

I had that one a couple of years ago, one of the symptoms is endless peeing so a full bladder is torture. Similar result to yours but they found a hernia I didn't know about!...

Been around since 93 l believe, used by a lot of sportspeople for quick repair to ligaments, muscles, tendons etc…. Most facts says they are untested or should l say, no results posted and not government approved.

I’ve started an 8 week program, hoping to get some relief of my arthritis and the various body joints that are totalled.

Keep in mind, over 40 years, l’ve have every conceivable doctor prescribed, drug known to mankind, by tablet or needle. The last lot of Rheumatoid arthritis needles make your hair fall out and bleed internally, not mention other things.

Anyway, l’ve started this trial with the view that Amino acids can’t be anywhere near as bad as some of the other stuff, plus it’s only 8 weeks.

Well, after less than a week, the bung shoulder with the never ending chronic pain 24/7, has had no pain whatever, since Monday.

Early days yes and the arthritis in most the other areas, is still the same. I do expect it to take all the eight weeks, if l’m lucky.

Injected into the bung hip only twice, still some pain but much better. Time will tell.

Are you part of a medical trial or have they been prescribed in a ‘last chance saloon’ kind of way? I’m assuming you are not taking stuff given to you by a bloke down the gym with no medical oversight. If it’s helping, great.

It won’t be approved unless someone stumps up the cash (tens of millions) to do proper, scientific trials. And that won’t happen unless there is profit in it, which I’m guessing there isn’t as you can buy this stuff on Amazon, can’t be patented. It’s the sort of thing governments/charities should invest in, could save a lot of money if they help auto immune/inflammatory diseases. If they are safe.

I’ve fair bit of research on on but thb, still a newbie about it.

A friend, is an investigative journo, did also did a fair bit of research on it and the company & associated medics. Everything has been very professional and is made at legal compound pharmacy, in Albion, Brisbane. Everything is legit in the making & delay h of in, right down to the coldpak delivery thru Auspost. Depatched overnight, arrived next morning.
All fully label and can be made at any compound chemist.

No, not part of a formal trial.
BPC157 for the joints, muscle & tendons.
Thymosin Betta 4 for the eyes, liver, kidneys etc.

I was told to expect an occasional very mild headache…… which is true.
The shoulder, couldn’t lie on it for more than a minute from much pain for 4-6 years, gone, completely…. in two days.

Has anyone else had cause to use the NHS's Pharmacy First scheme, whereby you are encouraged to consult a pharmacist for minor ailments rather than clog up GP appointments? I've had an ear infection for a few days and decided to call the pharmacy. No appointment needed, just call in. So I went there, the chap looked in my ear, confirmed it was an infection and prescribed an antibiotic spray. I knew I would have to pay for the medication, but I was charged £25, which included a 'consultation fee'. I was a bit surprised, but paid up. Is this right?

Surely you qualify for free prescriptions, so if this spray was “prescribed”, it shouldn’t have a charge
