I’m fortunate to have been in Augusta all week, my first time. An amazing place, the course, the facilities, everything. I’d love to play here one day, without the thousands watching as I’d crap myself! Hopefully I’ll be back. I can see Smith possibly catching Scheffler but 3 shots is tough when the other guy is also bang in form. It will be a good battle that’s for sure, and I can’t see anyone else coming through, but who knows. Bloody freezing today, Saturday, though.
Wow, must admit I turned a slight shade of green reading this. However, I don't understand how you ended up in Augusta when asking for a return ticket to Middlesbrough! Reference playing in front of the large crowds. Myself and Dennis touched on this on our walk through the rough on Friday. His take on it was slightly different, he thought the more people there the more likely someone would know where your ball had landed!
Yours wouldn’t have just disappeared if there’s been loads of people watching the tree based pinball play out …and the fair weather golfers at Augusta don’t have to mess around with one temporary green thrown into the mix! Looks easy to me there
Sir Nick Faldo was 6 shots back going into the final round when Greg 'choker' Norman lead, and he was the nearest to him, by the end Faldo won by 5 !!! They always say the Masters doesn't begin til the back nine on the final day, ask Spieth ! Having said all that, Sheffler's form in the last couple of months has been nothing short of brilliant, and seems to have a great temperament. I put my money on Cam Smith at the start, and realistically he looks like the only one that could catch him.
Shame Mcllroy hasn't had today's form all week! Scheffler started this round a little shaky, but that chip in on the third has really changed it again
Look for Rick Shiels playing Nick Faldo at Cruden Bay nth Scotland . Worth a watch , on YouTube Faldo said he hadn’t played a British course in March since his late teens ! It was blowing he went round one under I think , his putting was amazing
Yeah I do he’s not as annoying , there’s an Aussie something like Kendrew ,( sorry old age ) really puts stuff across well , easy and no gimmicks , voice doesn’t grate . I type in a specific move that I want to look at and he comes up amongst the others C’mon Mcilroy
I's funny watching the spectators when a tee shot drops amongst them. They scurry about as close as they dare to the ball without touching it then when it stops they stare at it from a couple of feet as though it's some sort of alien being!
I lived in a cottage on Cruden Bay GC for 6 months when I first went up to Scotland, nice course, but got a bit hairy when the wind blew. I read a year or two back, that the family I worked for, who owned this cottage, who had a bit of a wayward son got embroiled in a nightmare. This son, who, when I was there was in his early teens, who is now in his late twenties, befriended some people from Liverpool who he let stay in this cottage. It turned out that this group were robbing ATM's around Scotland, and running the operation from this cottage. They were caught, and the son, who denied knowing anything about it was on trial with them. I'm bloody sure he did know, but he had good legal representation and got off. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/atm-gang-duped-grandson-famous-8012931
Utterly brilliant finish from Rory and Morikawa!!! We chose to follow them all round, glad we did, others in our group bounced around. What a day.
