Awesome stuff!!! There's a couple of really good jazz venues in Glasgow(obviously not at present). My wife and I would sometimes go on a Saturday afternoon. One,in the merchant City, was full of couples in their late 60's/70's,all dressed up in their finest, dancing along to a full jazz/swing band,it was refreshing to watch whilst enjoying a beer or two.The other was a Belgian bar up in the West end,bit more yuppy but some fine musicians and singers on display.....What I'd give to be going tomorrow.

The range of stuff Eva Cassidy could do was amazing. Only white lass who could pull off an Aretha Franklin song, Chain .of Fools and then do jazzy numbers and standards. Her version of Autumn leaves is up amongst the best. Love Tall Trees In Georgia. She was a pretty good guitarist too.
Sad when you compare the acclaim and riches talentless bimbos get compared to what she did in her lifetime. Though those things never appealed to or motivated her. Mick Fleetwood who guested on drums for her and was a big admirer said she turned down chances of deals as she only wanted to play stuff which appealed to her. Bet he didn't dare tell Stevie Nicks that Eva's version of Songbird was a lot better than hers<laugh>

My old man had loads of Ella Fitzgerald L'P's....They walked when he passed away as a female sibling of mine had sticky fingers(I managed to surreptitiously smuggle my Mums 'Hard Days Night' L.P. from under the cow's nose)...Hope she doesn't post on here or I'm ****ed:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Must be a trait with female siblings. When my husband went from the UK to South Africa in 1966 he left in the family home a collection of over 200 78's and 45's plus about 30 LP's started around the late 40's. He asked his sister to look after them until he found settled accommodation. This occurred about 4 years later after we bought a house in Sydney. When he asked for them to be sent to him she informed him that she had sold them/given them away plus after their dad died she had got rid of his large collection too, which went back to the early 30's and contained some real treasures.

It's her 78th Birthday today and also her 56th Wedding Anniversary so he will ring her in Hull later.

It happens all the time elsewhere, it is not a unique trait of the Allams.

Links?

You only have to look at who liked your post to know it wasn't very good. At least the supposedly well informed SW3 didn't come out with his most common reply of him not knowing that.

Here's some links. Lose another 10 stone and you could get round them. GLP wouldn't be interested as he reckons the only club he is interested in is City. At least when you point out other clubs doing things as badly or better than City. Though that doesn't stop him posting on threads about games involving clubs that City don't even come up against.

You’re not reading too well today
I know you obviously don’t so go and look

You could do with reading a book on punctuation.

The David Conn article explaining why we are behind other countries in bringing on youngsters a bit too long for you?

Not at all. Even with the comma and full stop inserted into your post. One Liverpool team. The Well known exception to the rule. Now quote the number of English players in Man Utd in 1968, Villa and the other Liverpool sides. And the sides which got to the finals of European competitions and lost.

The use of the term spazz denotes a ****. Sorry, haven't you got the first 10 stone off yet?

I know a lad, with a bigger clubs than us it happened to. And someone who played years ago. Though for different reasons than the KLP one.

Weight jokes don’t bother me so crack on. I’m not touchy like you & your generation.

They’re not funny & make you look thicker & more butter than you are, which is really bitter, but do crack on. The only laughing going on is at you.

More butter? That was funny, lard arse.
