It certainly wasn't blindingly obvious to the Allams as he applied for the job when Bruce left but they weren't impressed enough to give him an interview.. Instead they rushed in, rushing in isn't something they are going to do this time apparently, and appointing Mike Phelan as there was no one else wanting to work for them.
 
Slutsky would be very interesting. Good record, came to UK early to learn English, very well connected, and willing to work in the Championship to get to the Premier League. Certainly left-field.
 
Dean smith at brentford wouldnt be a bad punt in my opinion

Started at wallsall and worked some magic
Done well at brentford despite restraints and players been sold
Think he could do well with a decent budget
Likes to promote youth too
Knows the league

Think hes good friends with abrhamovich whos trying to get hima gig, it is the russian guy who cant sit still when hes watching the game isnt it?
