Aye, a couple of weeks; let's see if he is one of the many who confuse that with a few weeks. 4 players expected to leave (his view) - obviously not including the loan losses. 3 or maybe 4 young guns coming through - how would these compare to who they replace in those promotional squads? The budget similar to previous promotion years; but is that realistic when we have lost/will lose the core of the squad, when we didn't previously. Much of what he said was frank and plausible, but the proof will be in the execution of his great philosophy. We all know what Tickler would have said.
Knowing how different Allam time is to Greenwich Mean Time it could be anywhere between 2 weeks and never.
****s sake! don't want PB, SB, NP or any old manager back. we got rid of them for a reason! LOOK FORWARD NOT BACK!
How about trying to re-ignite the old Clough/Taylor magic- Nigel C and our ex ,Peter Taylor, as a 2 pronged force ?
You don't have to 'generally interpret' a couple as meaning two It's exactly what it means Ehab might take longer, but he said two weeks (let's just hope it isn't as long as 14 periods of 24 hours!)
I guess I was just hedging against anyone coming in here and saying "Well technically a couple can mean this or that..." because it may come as a surprise to some but I don't actually like getting into those "he said, she said" debates if I can help it. The main culprit is on ignore so for all I know he has tried to correct me. But yeah, with the HDM saying it's two weeks from now, it does seem like it's more like 3-4 weeks from that interview last week. I guess the main focus is the fact that we seemingly want manager and bulk of transfers done by 1st July. Whether that happens is anyone's guess though.
Be interesting to see what happens Regardless of saying two weeks I think unless he already had at least one person lined up that's optimistic (as you say it's already been a while since the interview) ...and it doesn't look like he did have someone lined up to me, but we'll see
Could be that psychology where you state a time, then reap the reward of getting it done earlier than said as if you're efficient (might be getting sitcoms confused, but I'm sure I recall Jim Royle's only marriage tip to his future son-in-law was: 'if you plan on coming home at 12.30am, say you'll be back at 1am but you came back earlier to see her'). Maybe, it's kinda like that?
