Agree with you there, Chazz. Martin Samuel is a good journalist. And what he writes about this makes a lot of sense. Though apparently it isn't what some people want to hear. We continue to sell players, Allam pockets the money and we replace them with loan players.
 
Perfect strategy for a club not wanting to invest, yet aim to get to the Prem anyway.

It's a sensible strategy, but leaves you a bit short if you make it!
 
The maximum benefit we could potentially get is four loan players from Chelsea, that alone is not going to get you up and it's certainly not a good enough reason to appoint someone as your head coach.

Well obviously it's not definitive but it's something we all said straightaway.
We have no scouting network, I doubt, he's only been here 6 months. He's hardly going to know who is who in the lower leagues. Of course he's going to want/ask/beg from Chelsea, The top youngsters around and one scored 20 odd goals last season. We can't get himbut he'll be hoping roman tosses a goal scorer our way.

Put's our situation into perspective?
4 of that 5 follow Monk from Leeds.
A more stable, better run club with their back room now nicely in place ready to go, headed up by a decent manager who knows the division..
Meanwhile we have a Russian who's no experience of this league, to be working with an ex-academy coach last with Aberystwyth (yes, I know who he is) and a new to the club goalkeeping coach, and a new to the club recruitment manager with apparently concerning track record, none of whom have met each other before. And big gaps still to fill.
It's to be hoped we manage to retain our better players and add some cracking signings in very good time, as we'll be playing catch up with literally every other club in our division.
Hope I'm proved wrong, but this is starting to smack of a shambolic botch job.
On the plus side, Leeds have just lost half of their back room team :) But at least they have a squad.

Picked a guy up to take to luton airport today,he was on the phone and he said i am good friends with daryl flahaven at boro and he is interested in the player from chelsea so we could speak to him as he knows boro will be going straight back up.

Sticking point is Nice are interested as are grasshoppers but if we could get him in at boro that would be best for us.

Then it went quiet and he said Hull No way he does not want to go there they got some egyptian owners and some guy from russia as a manager they won't even finish mid table no prospect at all for him there.

could not help myself when he put the phone down i said obviously your involved in football by the way i am from Hull , he said what club do you follow i just give a stare and said the one you obviously know nothing about mate,you know nothing about the place or team.

he then tried to sort of make an excuse so i said do you like the stadium he said the K C i said KCOM Mate,what about the city. he said whats it got .

I stopped there and said you know **** mate the people are friendlier than the southern ****s and i doubt you have been here long enough to have seen Hull at all i think he was turkish but acted like a southern **** probably because he lives here.

I should not have gone on one with a customer but it pisses me off people like that.
