Plenty of action for Spurs then to distract them in the race for 4th. Still think they will go to the very late stages of the Europa League. Hope Liverpool continue to get distracted as well with lots of Europa League and FA Cup replays!!!! All we need is to keep focused.
They will have their work cut out to keep in the promotion race with Swindon and Bristol City ahead, MK Dons and Preston all wanting those promotion places. and if they win their replay, a likely home fixture to Manchester United. They will have a backlog of fixtures!!
So it's OK for me to want Chelsea (for obvious reasons)to win? Wasn't sure who needed to win for our Europe hopes.
In reality there is very little in it, but yes a Chelsea win is slightly favourable to us. If we were to finish 6th and Spurs 7th, and the FA Cup winners were to be someone other than Liverpool, Utd or Arsenal (and the latter two play each other in the QFs remember), then a Spurs win today would see us miss out on Europe under this scenario. But a Chelsea win would see us qualify. Even if one of Liverpool, Utd and Arsenal were to the win the cup, I think there would still be a slight difference between Spurs and Chelsea winning today, should we finish 6th and Spurs 7th. Here Spurs winning today would see us have to get through two rounds of EL qualifiers. But a Chelsea win would see us only having to get through one round of qualifiers. I think. But if Spurs finish above us, then the result today does not matter one little bit (that I can think of).
