In response Rogers has written an open letter to the Kop asking for a whip round for enough cash to annexe the Llandudno sea front in a frantic bid to offset the glamour of the Gower." I wouldn't be surprised RVP would be good for me, but what happened about the talk of the youngster at Real Madrid that Laudrup wanted on loan? Apparently the next Ronaldo that Murinhio was apparently keen to loan out for some first team football, can't remember his name, but if we're looking at a player from a big club, an up and coming youngster on a loan deal would fit the bill
I can't remember his name, there was talk of it a few weeks ago though . It was posted on here by someone but I can't be arsed to go trawling through weeks of posts. I was just trying to put 2 stories together as it would make sense as Laudrup doesn't seem keen on fringe players from a big club, so maybe an up and coming youngster on loan
Joe Allen back in training tomorrow and now ML has valued him at £20M and will tell the chairman that. The plot thickens
They've a winger/striker called Fernandes or something that did really well at the U-19s this summer. Callejon is £15-20M worth of player so it's probably not him! Thinks he's just playing silly buggers with us to get a higher fee now. Fair play of course.
There's an article on Sky text about it Rev, he says if Henderson is worth £17 then Joe is worth £20M. Definitely sounds like ML is chancing his arm though.
And bloody right enough too. We don't want to sell him, don't need to sell him, so why should we sell him cheap? Laudrup is obviously no mug. Allen either stays or he goes for more than 15 million. It will be interesting if another club comes in for him and kicks off a bidding war
I saw that. Surprised me that ML would use such broken logic, but it's his job to get the best deal for Swansea.
It was me that posted it, probably Internet bollocks; "Someone out there in cyber land claims that Laudrup is currently trying to persuade Mourinho to loan him 'wonder kid' winger Jese Rodriguez. Billed as Ronaldo's replacement he replaced Christiano from the bench last year for two 10-15 minute cameos. It is thought Mourinho would like to loan him out for regular first team football this season. Would be nice."
cheers terror , I knew I'd seen it somewhere. it would tie up with us being after a player from a big club
I think you need to read your board's about Agger leaving , like I posted before when discussing Joe , just swap the players names around
Rodgers hasn't set a price for him at a press conference though. At the moment it's still rumours, however strong. I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Barca to be honest, we could do with a big fee for him and he's a quality player. I'd be gutted but I can see the logic if we sell him. And Terrorwit, chances are he'll be on the rubbish heap in a year or two, knowing what Madrid are like with players. They have to be exceptional to get a chance there - Casillas, Ramos and Raul recently and that's it? Might be a good acquisition knowing the players they discard. On the 'broken logic' thing - Laudrup obviously has an agenda; to get the best deal for Swansea and also to show the fans he isn't a push-over. But the logic that since Henderson cost £16M Allen should cost more is flawed. In reality, since Henderson cost £16M, if we sign Allen, it'll be for less - because of the stupid money we paid last summer.
It's stupid money this year but not last ? sorry for you but KK set the precedent and MR Laudrup is using that figure and Henderson as the bench mark for Joe's valuation .
Last year we had a list of names - everyone knew it. This caused inflated prices. Comolli as DoF didn't help. This year we seem to have a list of positions to fill - a much better approach. Kenny didn't set a precedent - it's a large reason he isn't at the club any more. We won't pay the fees we did last summer. EDIT - most of us thought it was stupid money last summer too!
Well at the end of the day if Liverpool (or any other club) don't reach Swansea's valuation then Rodgers will have to look else where ,it's nice to see Mr Laudrup's has a bit of steel about him and with Huw's subtle guidance the club will show that no ones going anywhere with out it being in the clubs best interests
Yeh from Swansea's point of view it's fair play. Lots of rumours that we want Nuri Sahin on loan from Madrid, maybe that will (or could) influence things. If it transpires.
There are a few things bothering me about Mr. Laudrup. 1) Why is he going to speak to Joe ? 2) Why was he at the press conference ? 3) Why is he talking about the players he`s fetching in / getting rid of ? Did`nt he quit a few days ago? Big, big mistake by the Swans PR dept. please log in to view this image On a more serious note, why did ML put a price of £20 million on Joe. Does he not know of this clause or is there no release clause at all ? and this figure of £15 million was to put a bit of pressure on us. Who first mentioned it, it was`nt our club, it was Bender was`nt it. Just a bit of conjecture on my part, which may be totally wrong. Nice to see we`re not going to train Diverpool`s fringe players. If they`re not good enough for them, they`re not good enough for us. please log in to view this image
I see everyone is forgetting about the £15m release clause again that Swansea basically admitted existed in their statement. There is far too much evidence to suggest this clause exists rather than doesn't exist. If it turns out not to exist I'd be utterly amazed given how much its been reported, and more importantly, the the quality and proven credibility on the people who have reported it.
