Watched it tonight. Downed a bottle of Rioja.
Split it into episodes ...works better supposedly
It was okay but massively over-hyped.
It’s very good. Bit ****ing long, the actors are a bit old. But it’s a good movie, much better than The Departed which was a bit **** imo.
I didn't watch it. Sorry. I had to watch Nativity instead. Mr Poppy is so funny.
If 4 unknown old guys made this it would have been crucified.
As bad as black mass?
black mass was better
The scene where he beats up the shopkeeper ffs
The family recipe scene in black mass is worth more than the whole 3 hours of the Irishman
Just came out of a coma and not able to read the whole thread but much appreciate my GC chums creating a thread for me,touched
Have to disagree, Archie.
It's not a very good movie. It's meh.
De Niro is good in it because he's good at being De Niro.
Pacino hams it up, as has been his wont over the last couple of decades.
Pesci is good in it.
Scorsese peaked with "Goodfellas" and he insists in still trying to remake it. "Casino" wasn't that good but still better than "The Irishman".
PS "The Departed" is an underrated movie IMHO.
Also seen "Joker". Brilliant. Going to watch it again because it's the type of movie where you can get more out of it in subsequent viewings, IMHO.
Also seen "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
Meh. Has it's moments, but overall, meh.
american gangster was the last good movie made, the stuff being made now is utter ****e and most of it has some political agenda, the level of tv series has been far higher than any movies in the last decade
American Gangster is the dugs baws.
Rarely bother with movies these days although honourable menshies for Zero Dark Thirty, Body of Lies and Sicario.
Narcos was the dugs but a tv series.
I loved that movie. A tour de ****ing force, I thought.
Beginning to go off you though.
