To be updated throughout the season Angus MacDonald (calf - DVT) - Out for the season. James Weir (knee) - Injury set-back, unlikely we'll ever see him again. Kevin Stewart - Missed training today, hurt his back practicing free kicks in Tenerife...
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Jarrod Bowen among those training this morning. He’s fine after limping off on Tuesday night. #hcafc
Nigel Adkins hopes to have Angus MacDonald available for the start of the season after an earlier than expected return to playing action. After dislocating is shoulder in the defeat to Cardiff City in April, it was feared MacDonald’s injury could see him miss the start of the new Championship season. However, after two and a half months of rehabilitation, MacDonald was able to lace up his boots and get out on the pitch on Friday night, playing 35 minutes in the 4-1 defeat to Braga in Portugal. The defender will look to play a larger role in the weeks to come with friendlies still to be played against Rochdale, Newcastle United and Barnsley and as a result Adkins is confident he will be fit to face Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa on August 6.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Jon Toral to miss tomorrow's friendly with Newcastle United tomorrow. Unclear how bad his injury is but not ideal to see pre-season interrupted.
Total’s probably short of breath. That will be his injury because when he start he’s knackered by about the 55th minute.
Irvine's ill, rather than injured... Jackson Irvine @jirvine36 For those asking I have missed the last two games due to illness. I left the game last night (on doctors advice) to not risk passing it on to any players, staff members or fans. I hope to be back training in a couple of days and ready for a big first week of the season @HullCity
I know norovirus is supposed to be infectious, but how bad was he that he couldn’t be in the same outdoor football stadium with people?
