Not recently - at least on our forum - but I think he posted a few wind up s elsewhere for a while

Mind you - have you seen that Mitch has returned - although as on e person said the Article he posted was so good it must have been someone impersonating him :) - bit harsh that I thought.

Love him or hate him on our boards Mitch did not act as a WUM just someone with some very defined and sometimes controversial views - I think he reserved his wumming (good word that) for others' sites

Leo, I have noticed a big change in him over the past year or so. I think he has settled down and has a little one. His outlook has changed since that came about.

OFH - I see you are still here - is it not time for your cocoa yet - you are not losing track of time again are you <cool>

I just got halted by the 30 second rule !!1 - better than the 3 minute one anyway :)

Not quite bedtime yet. Did you know that you cannot buy Horlicks out here?

This site seems a bit slow tonight. It does seem to creek a bit when there is a lot of activity.

Seeing as you have decorating and now outdoor experience, you are just the person to help paint my new shed.<ok>

Two coats of anti-insect repellent, two coats of vanish, two coats of anti-sun ray treatment.:emoticon-0107-sweat

Beginning to wish that I hadn't given in and bought the larger model. Still it is now tee shirt weather and I will have to look out the shorts.<cool>

It will be interesting tomorrow to see how the match thread goes on here. I have noticed, no great suprise really that we don't get too many of the opposition fans on when we are away. They are all at the game I suppose, but it can be quite good when you get both sides all in the one thread.

A calm Mitch wonders will never cease, although we had the most obnoxious woman at work who since having a baby has mellowed somewhat so it can happen.

i like it when the opposition join in the match thread too, makes it much more interesting. Course, that's not to say that you're not all interesting, coz you are! lol...Darn it..you know what i mean ;). Anyway, sadly you won't have me on the match thread to morrow..coz i'll be at the game :). Hopefully we'll all be happy this time tomorrow!

Morning all, I see the BBC has shipped another prominent journalist out to Japan to cover the terrible events there. Don’t get me wrong their news gathering operation should be reporting on events; but do I need the complete personalisation of the tragedy to the nth degree as the BBC are now intent on demonstrating, there can be very few British people that have familial links or business in that particular area. I know the Japanese affected will be distraught, upset, worried, bewildered etc, I do not need a journalist to ask “How are you feeling?” and then have costly translators and voice over artists with Japanese accents to tell me, I don’t need a journalist to say “Look at the devastation” as he waves his hand to show me where to look, I can see it. Apart form the poor standard of journalism and the BBC’s seeming never ending need to compete with the independent television stations and appeal to the lowest common denominator, what are they actually contributing. If I wanted to watch this rubbish I would watch ITV with its sanitised, jokey, treat the viewer like an idiot style. I want to be informed in a manner I can relate to.
And don’t get me started on Fiona Bruce. You don’t end the main evening news with “Bye, bye” as she does, “Good evening” or “Good night” is appropriate. BBC, LCD more like.

And I'll put this on 606 to see how long it lasts.

Thanks you for the coffee I am only getting instant with hot milk in my lodgings.... which coupled with early morning tea made with coagulated off buffalo milk has not been so good.

Managed to head breakfast off at the pass by bringing my own muesli ...I thought.....but this morning chef decided I still needed a spiced chicken and cheese omelette and 4 slices of toast.

Just had lunch which was 3 bowls of diff. curries, one of dhal, one of rice, and three chapattis :emoticon-0107-sweat. Given that it is in the late 30s here. The wind eases things  .

Facebook has died on me at the mo. Just off to the charity which works with the railway children.

Hi Brag; I'm with you on this one. I was listening (not wholly, as you will see from this comment) to Radio 4 news a couple of days ago and an interview with Sir Trevor McDonut. Essentially, the argument appears to be that our insatiable appetite for 24 hour news means that broadcasters *have* to be there just to be able to report on the very latest developments. As Sir T said, the problem with this is that they are too busy reporting to do anything remotely investigative or analytical. As a result journalists are getting closer and closer to simply being reporters of events - and I've always thought that the Beeb (thanks to the licence fee) has stood above this.

Still if they don't send someone, then the quality of commentary can be pretty poor -- who hasn't be fooled into thinking certain newspapers aren't actually there when they do their online ball-by-ball football reports. At least the Gruaniad 'fesses up to it. So to some extent the Beeb is caught between a rock and a hard place but, on balance, surely for something like this, there has to be a better way - partnering with a local supplier is the obvious route.

Meantime, I gave up with both 606 and not yesterday as I couldn't get on either site first thing yesterday (606 'cos of the opening hours and Not ????).
