Just found this, happy birthday Leonardo.
Hi All, It is good to see the usual names appearing here. I felt that I got to know you all. I hardly ever posted on 606 because it was shut most of the time I had access to it. I did send a fairly long message explaining why I thought Bill Shankly was wrong about football being more important than life and death after our Earthquake in Christchurch, but the mods on 606 rejected it because they said it was off topic. To be honest, I lost interest in Watford's results for the games just after 22/2. Now that life is getting back to normal with electricity and water (that still has to be boiled) I can once again take an interest at what is happening at the Vic. I will also be able to contribute here more regularly.
Having said all that, on a non-football related matter, my heart goes out to the people of Japan.

NZHorn, nice to see the international group growing on here. I have problems with time zones, dread to think what it must be like for you.
I think we all have problems with the mods from time to time; you wonder just what they can see that you can't.
Some of the things happening around the world do make you realise that football is not the be all of life. It is good though when you see a club like Watford supporting a charity so wholeheartedly.

Without being a hypocrite I feel slightly sorry for Aidy - although I was glad to see him leave us in the end I will always appreciate the good things he did for us and feel he was slightly a victim as an inexperienced manager of the board room troubles of his time but Coventry have not even given him one season to sort things out - maybe they really fear relegation i but it might have been nice to give him that little bit more time
If he has any sense he will now take a little time out and think about how to change the style of football he uses. He has to get away from the hoofball as it seems only to work the first time his side play someone - next time they are prepared and this is why his second half of a season statistics always seem to be so much worse than the first.
I still believe he is an hones and intelligent young manager and one day will get the breaks and come good again - but it is difficult at the moment to see who is going to offer him a job.

Welcome NZhorn Glad your ok , I used to live in christchurch(Woolston and merivale) and was deeply shocked and saddened! However I always found the Kiwis a resilient bunch ,especially the one eyed cantabs! Hope your home is ok and at least you have power and water ! I have since found out that my friends there are ok although some have lost there homes!! (Sumner bay and New Brighton).Hope the Horns and Crusaders can help you feel a bit better on the sporting front!

Hello there NZ. I hope things have returned to some form of normality for you.
I have a friend who lives just outside Christchurch in a place called Rolleston and family, aparently, somewhere on the west side of the south island up in the mountains. My daughter spends her bus journey to school talking to her friend in Rolleston by facebook on her mobile telephone, the wonder of modern communication - who would have believed it.

when I was in Christchurch we communicated with old fax machine to folks back home ,you remember the ones where the paper was like a kitchen roll!!!
