I haven't been around a great deal for the past couple of days, apart for the game today, so feel that I didn't really know too much about the interview until last night. My immediate reaction was very much the same as everyone else, yet somethings just seemed very odd to me. So far I haven't really been able to answer my own questions, so maybe some of you will have a take on it.

The interview, if I remember rightly, took place at the Vic. Has he now got a key to the door so that he can come and go? Who was responsible for the interview taking place? Did he call up Frank Smith, or did our reporter seek him out and phone him? Remember there was a great deal of confusion as to who he actually was.

If Bassini is simply looking for some cheap moment of fame why has no photo appeared? All reporters are able these days to carry a digital camera. Did he refuse to have his picture taken? That would go against the fame idea.

Up until the interview the main man appeared to be Panos Thomas. In fact prior to the publication I thought that "The Man behind the bid" was going to be him. Then when it is published he hardly gets a mention, apart from they are friends and their daughters go to the same school. Panos Thomas is highly regarded in his field of work, so unless he has been misled in some way surely he would not wish to have his reputation put in jeopardy.

These talks have been going on for several months now if we can believe what little we hear from the club. Surely by now someone would have asked where the money would come from. I cannot think for a moment they haven't, but surely now they will be interested in the reaction from the fans.

I have read elsewhere that the club are not too pleased with the way that the interview was reported. Do they think that a more positive spin should have been put on it?

In many ways this seems to have raised more questions than it has answered and I wonder somehow if a main piece in the jigsaw puzzle has been kept out of sight. Could this man just be a front for something very different in reality?

I have looked into the original post and it seems to be correct !!
In my opinion this guy is a chancer and I do not want him to own our club!
The guy has more fails to his cv then problems yorkie had with his renault!!!
To avoid libel and slander charges , I must stress the above is purely my opinion!

Norway - your last post was timed at 2:26am <yikes> - you up early or up late?

This Bassini business reminds me of the Michael Knighton/Moan United/Carlisle saga - if he does take over, will he sack Malky and manage the team himself? :emoticon-0107-sweat

I worry about a take over, whether it is to happen or not to happen. The list of companies that Mr Bassinihas been involved with that have been dissolved is incredible.

Morning BB AK thanks for the coffee!
BB up late last night studying .............after going out for a wedding anni meal;)
Ak I`m very worried too ,it seems he `s killed more companies than weve had hot dinners!!!

I can understand the club not being happy with the way it has been reported because almost unanimously it has led supporters to a negative view of him - the best are only saying "don't judge too soon". But the "club" in this instance is likely to be those wanting out - so do they really care too much about what happens "after" the sale - so long as they get their money first.

I come back to the question - how can a bankrupt become able to purchase Watford just 3 years later. I don't know of any legal means of going from the dole to multi-millionaire status in such a short time in an economic recession unless he was incredibly lucky.

My suspicion is that he has no money himself; his family will put up the cash he needs and the rest will be financed through his City investment friends - not a cheap option and one which will need to be repaid.

Anyone who changes his name after a bankruptcy needs to be viewed with high levels of doubt.

KEEP HIM OUT

Hey folks we are running again. <smiley> A message from the site maybe to tell us if this is going to happen often?
