.... and yes I have been going mad on here today - I have a rotten cold and so am reduced to sitting around so posting seems like a good idea - but even so I am not remotely up to Norway's level - and he disappeared for a day or two - I think he is practising to write a book :bandit: <wizard> <yikes> :emoticon-0152-heart - but which genre ?

See, this is what 606 missed. I didn't have the option of an "avatar" (the picture, not a tall blue person).

This avatar is dedicated to akureyri.

Evening all, hello to all the "newbies".

Alas although I'm pretty techno-aware Ive not had time to learn all the new tricks of the site. Maybe a few sick days would be handy :)

The dark nest rules, I reckon - mostly cos you can post at any time of the day (or night, eh Yorkie???)

Theo, top art work :) Intrigue rules over accuracy but if you want some help in cropping the pic to show the hornet in full glory, just ask the clever peeps on the site - there are definitely some clever Photoshoppers in the Hornet's Nest crew (or PM me if you prefer).

What an afternoon, I need a pick me up. ;)

To buy something simple like a bit of guttering involves a trip of 30 miles each way, if you are lucky. This afternoon was not lucky. First of all I came across a traffic diversion, not too bad, then a big protest of teachers complaining about the government and the cuts in expenditure. Yes it happens everywhere. This meant going in a big circle to avoid the placards, while the gendarmerie stood there looking daggers at the motorists and smiling at the demonstrators. To get across the town normally takes five minutes, today half an hour. <yikes>

Finally getting to the BricoMarche I find that they are out of stock on most of the bits and pieces I need. A further 15 miles then to the next possible outlet. While on route Mme sees a garden centre we haven't been in for a couple of years. :emoticon-0120-doh:

45 mins.later we leave the garden centre and continue the journey. Finally I find a little used magasin that actually has what I want. It is one that has just had a face lift so a further explority walk all round is called for with of course new things to look at and buy.

By this time I need a loo, (probably a weak credit card brought it on)so seeing a very large supermarket that is bound to have one in we go. When I say it was large, my feet said it was very large.:emoticon-0107-sweat

Still I did find some very well priced Bordeaux that I intend to try shortly. I will of course keep some of the "real one" for Saturday.<cool>

Do you get extra points for long posts?

Hey Ak, where's the evening Barman? I see Yorkie has been on the sauce since 1.30 GMT.

<ale> for me, before dinner, which means a temporary move to the kitchen, before watching the CL in a few minutes (as I need to get to sleep early tonight :) )

Still got a smile on face thinking about being a Watford fan at the mo.

Hello to all - just applied for tickets for the Olympic kayaking. My 15 yo does kayaking so I'm taking him as a treat for getting his Grade 2 (whatever that is) and being the best youngster in the Jersey Canoe Club. As for last night, my colleague who supports Norwich and I have never both had the same reaction to a match. Just hope my boss isn't feeling too happy come 5pm on Saturday.

Well I reckon that the match thread went very well on here last night. It was the first time that I have been told that I am ahead of the BBC. ;)

Unfortunately a lot of people didn't manage to get onto the Hornet or Ipswich Player. The site refused to let them sign in. WFC have sent out an apology, but it clearly is not their fault. What I don't understand is how different people get a different service. I always log on fairly early these days so that if there is a problem off goes an e-mail, but some have reported a loss of commentary in mid-match when I have still had good reception. Living where I do miles away from anywhere, I wouldn't be surprised if I lost my Internet connection, but fingers crossed it is usually fairly reliable.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the free offers to listen to the games? Do PTV, who run the service, have problems with their database of who can sign in? All a bit beyond me I am afraid.

Evening all - looks like we have vacated the original nest a bit earlier than planned and the BBC have won...:emoticon-0120-doh:
Isn't it rather a nice feeling to be doing well, playing good football and seeing our investments in young players beginning to pay a dividend<ok>

I heard a disturbing comment on 5-Live on my way home - speculation is that Ashley Young is seeking a move and his contract expires in the summer. If he goes for a Bosman, we will not receive any possible sell on fees<steam>

Evening w-y, The beeb have been steadily making it more and more difficult to use their site. I never had any great expectation that they would change their mind. I think that there is a possibility that they want the severs for the the Olympics.
